Lindsey stepped out of the bathroom, his eyes falling on a moving mess of pillows and blankets. Instantly he knew Stevie had fallen back asleep despite saying, promising, she wouldn’t. Walking through the room, he sat down on the bed. Feeling the mattresses shifting, Stevie mumbled something incoherently in her sleep before turning around, her back now facing Lindsey.
“Angel.” Lindsey said softly, brushing his hand through her hair. “Stevie, wake up.”
But all he achieved was Stevie moving and trying to brush his hand aside.
“Steph, I’ve gotta go.” He tried again.
She mumbled something that sounded like a protest that Lindsey just told her he had to go.
“Stephanie, I have a plane to catch.”
“Make it wait.” Stevie finally turned and faced her husband.
Doing so, her eyes fell on her alarm clock, making her growl. It was way too early for her to be awake, she thought when realizing it was 3 something in the morning.
“You know as well as I do that I can’t make a plane wait.” Lindsey laughed about her really bad early morning mood.
“You can. Just tell them Stevie Nicks doesn’t want to let go of her husband.” She yawned at him.
And to estimate her words, she reached out, pulling Lindsey to lay back in bed right next to her.
“Just tell them your wife wanted you with her.” She pouted at him. “I don’t want you to leave now. I want you with me. I haven’t seen much of you this year and... I know I’m being selfish... but I want you with me when this interview will be broadcasted.”
“And if I tell all these people, the guys at the airport and the venues, my fans... you are my wife, they’ll think I’m insane.” Lindsey joked.
“First, you have an album, a pretty good one if I do say so myself, called ‘Go Insane’ so they know you are insane. And if they say something like that, just tell them to wait a few more days and they’ll know you’re not insane, Mr. Stevie Nicks.”
“How often do I have to tell you that you’re Mrs. Lindsey Buckingham?”
“You don’t have to, I know it.” Stevie smiled at him. “Still I don’t want you to leave.”
“Just think in one month you’ll be on tour as well and the time will fly and you won’t even miss me, cause you’ll have so much fun.” Lindsey teased.
“I always miss you.” Stevie protested. “I even missed you when we were each other’s biggest pain in the ass.”
Placing his hand over his heart, he continued to tease her. “I think that was the nicest thing you ever said to me.”
“In this ungodly hour, definitely.” Stevie shook her head. “I can’t believe that once upon a time I went to bed about an hour ago.”
“Yeah, good old times.” Lindsey laughed. “We used to be wide awake and fooling around at this time.”
“Or be totally mad at each other.” She laughed as well.
“But then we made up.” Thinking about what he had just said, he became a bit nostalgic. “Somehow I miss you being angry at me. We miss a lot of makeup sex.”
“If you don’t behave, I will not have sex with you ever again, cause I’ll be mad at you forever.” Stevie tried to keep a stern expression but had to laugh after mere seconds.
