Getting up, Stevie stormed out of the room without looking back. Both Karen and Kristen knew right now Stevie was a volcano about to erupt.

“So they’re all quite busy.” Kristen stated after a while.

“Football, soccer, riding and ballet lessons...” Karen counted. “Sometimes I wonder how Stevie is able to remember all dates when she can barely keep up with her own schedule.”

“I don’t wonder why.” Kristen smiled. “I’ve seen her when she first came to see Will. She came in, saw him and the first thing I thought was wondering why she hadn’t had a child earlier.”

Karen kept her silence. She knew Stevie and Kristen had become close friends over the years. But she didn’t know how much the young blonde woman knew about Stevie’s and Lindsey’s past. Karen herself knew more than she had actually ever wanted to know thanks to the years Stevie had spent dependent on Klonopin and the nightmares and slightly delusional moments it had caused her to have for eight years. No matter what she had secretly thought about Lindsey back in the nineties, Karen had been glad hearing he had come over to talk to Stevie and made her decide to kick Klonopin and her doctor right in the ass. And kicking asses she had.

“I know it wasn’t her choice.” Kristen said, bringing Karen back into the presents. “You know, it’s so surreal to see her, telling people she’s not missing anything not having children and knowing just how much she loves her kids.”

“She would do everything for them.” Karen replied. “And I know for sure if the press will turn to follow the kids and not only her and Lindsey, heads will roll.”

“I know.” Kristen smiled, somewhat pensively. “I knew from the beginning I would need to give the three to them, and sometimes, I kinda miss them. But seeing her like this, and I know that Lindsey’s not really any different, seeing how she acts like a lioness defending her kids, makes me realize I’ve done everything right. And I still see them...”

“And they’re already looking forward to spend time with you.” Karen laughed, remembering how the three had talked just minutes ago about being excited about spending time with their auntie Kristen.

“That’s what I love about this charade.” Kristen confessed. “It meant I would still be able to see the kids even though I only carried them for Stevie.”

Meanwhile Stevie was upstairs, pacing the bedroom, impatiently waiting for Lindsey to pick up his cell phone. Unfortunately for her he was still in rehearsal. Still she wasn’t thinking about putting the phone down. Only after it felt like forever Stevie was about putting it down and just about to hit the end button when she finally heard her husband’s voice.

“Stevie?” Lindsey asked out of breath.

“What were you doing?” She asked. “I’ve been ringing you cell for ages.”

“We were still rehearsing.” He replied, his guitar still hanging around his shoulders. “What happened?”

“Why do you think something happened?” Stevie now questioned.

“Cause you wouldn’t have tried to get to me if nothing happened, knowing I was still in sound check for all you know.” Lindsey laughed. “So out with it, what happened?”

“Obviously nothing happened to you.” Stevie muttered.

“Steph, Angel, what should’ve happened to me?”

“I’ve been followed by paparazzi today.” She began. “You know Kris and I were out for brunch. And when we walked back to her car about a handful of paparazzi was waiting for us. And actually taking pictures.”
