Stevie was nervously pacing her hotel suite. She had no idea how Liz had done what she had, but somehow she was about to meet with Perez Hilton in about fifteen minutes. It was something she would have never come up with herself. What she had thought about was one of the big newspapers, but not the internet.

She had just come off the phone with Lindsey, keeping him from his sound check, needing him to calm her nerves down. And to tell him that this interview would most likely indeed spread. He had told her to “shut up and calm down” after listening to her talking for ten minutes straight. Hearing Lindsey telling her to shut up had caused her to stop in mid rant and her mouth to drop open. But Stevie had known he was right. She had wanted big and now she had big.

“Karen!” Stevie yelled for her assistant.

“Good god, stop pacing, sit down and keep your nerves under control.” She came out of the bedroom. “It won’t do me any good if you get a heart attack right now. It’s not the first time you meet him. He already had an exclusive for ‘For What It’s Worth’ and he basically worships you.”

“Okay.” Stevie took a deep breath, knowing Karen was right, but still she was nervous as hell. “I’ll try to cool down. God, I’ve never been so nervous about an interview before.”

“Well then it’s good that this isn’t an interview but you’ll just sit down and talk to him.” Karen stated.

“And what am I suppose to tell him?” Stevie asked not the least bit calmer now. “I can’t just sit down and start ranting about the media.”

“How about the next time you just make up your mind before telling me to do anything?” Karen suggested. “Cause I can’t send him back to LA now.”

“I know.” Stevie sighed and then took some deep breaths, remembering what Lindsey had told her. “Okay, I’m good now.”

But then she froze at the knock on the door.

“Stevie?” Karen questioned, but saw her only nod.

What then surprised her was that Stevie made her way through the room and opened the door without another moment of hesitation.

“Miss Stevie Nicks, wonderful as always.” Perez greeted her in his usual way.

It always caused her to smile and slightly roll her eyes. Stevie had no idea how she had done it, but somehow the king of gossip had never turned against her so far.

“And you’re just as charming as ever.” Stevie laughed. “Good to see you again.” She took him in a short hug, but then looked up with a playful scowling expression. “But you really need to rephrase this, cause it’s Mrs. now.”

He laughed. “Not since now, but for sixteen years already. My, my you never fail to surprise everyone.”

Karen exhaled a deep breath she had been holding, knowing everything would run smoothly now. Stevie was at ease as she and Perez walked over to the couches and sat down. And Hollywood’s most feared blogger was as nice and innocent as a lamb in Stevie’s presents. So everything would be okay despite Stevie’s earlier near breakdown.

“So you left the family at home, I take it?” Perez asked, realizing it was fairly quiet. “Or are they just out in town?”

“You know this is actually the question why this is happening right now.” Stevie confessed.

“What?”

“Don’t tell me you haven’t heard that the press never leaves me at the moment.” She watched him.
