New Student Orientation

They arrived at the community college where Y/N would be going. They walked over to registration, got their folders, then they continued to the auditorium where the opening lecture would take place. They all separated for their different groups. Flavio and Luciano were in the same group. Whilst on the way to their group leader Luciano saw Y/N. She happened to look in his direction and for a brief moment their eyes met. Her face flushed a bit and his eyes widened. It was different seeing her in person. You can learn only so much about a person from pictures and profiles. Seeing her now was different, he could see her expression, the way she moved, how she reacted to other people around her, and so far he liked what he saw. She was more beautiful in person than he expected. She was also very aware of her surroundings. Her eyes constantly darted around, surveying everything and her body moved with a jerky, slightly clumsy mobility but was also graceful, as if she were dancing around everyone. Her expression was blank and concentrated when she wasn't reacting with someone. When her mother talked to her, her face changed into a very relaxed and familiar expression and when someone else said something to her she switched to a polite smile. She was the epitome of grace and if Luciano hadn't known better, he would have thought she had been raised in a high-class family.

Y/N and her mother sat down and started to look through the folders they had gotten. Luciano and Flavio sat a few rows behind them in their group. Flavio turned to his brother and said, "Is that the girl there?" while pointing at Y/N. "Yes it is," replied Luciano. "Do you plan on saying anything to her today?" "Only if I am able to get her alone."

Soon after everyone arrived the opening lecture started. After the lecture a video about campus life proceeded to play. Luciano did not pay one bit of attention to either nor to the lecture that followed the video. His eyes were solely on Y/N. He watched her bored expression as she listened. He could also see her scan the crowd as if she were looking for someone. After looking around two or three times and pausing to look at certain people who all looked similar, she seemed relieved. It was as if someone she was avoiding didn't show up. She then scanned again, stopping on different, similar looking people but afterwards seemed disappointed. She then turned to her mother and with a slight frown whispered something to her. Her mother gave a resigned shrug and whispered something back. Both then turned back to the lecturer who was now giving the schedule for the orientation. Each group would go around campus and go do individual lectures while the parents stayed in the auditorium. After this, everyone would regroup in the cafeteria for pizza and light refreshments. They would then split into groups based on their major. And then finally they would all go back to the auditorium after and listen to the safety lecture and then the final lecture before going home or asking individual questions at the help desk.

The groups all split up and left one by one. Luciano watched Y/N's group leave and also watched as one of the other girls in her group eyed her as well. His group went on his way and soon he lost sight of her.

Y/N's point of view

Y/N walked with her group. Her group leader was telling all of them that they were going to the computer lab to set up their emails and be shown the school website. All she wanted to do was get out of the heat. Once she was back in air conditioning the stress and nervousness started to set back in. Her mom was her safety zone and she did not like being without her. She also felt like she was being watched which definitely didn't help her paranoia. They got to the computer lab and she went and sat close to the back. She turned towards the front and a girl with light purple hair caught her eye and waved at her with a bright smile. Y/N smiled back but was a little confused because she had never seen her before. They continued to set up their emails and passwords and listened to the lecture about the college website. Afterwards they went on a brief tour of the campus and the girl from before went up to Y/N.

"Your vest looks really cool, I really like it." Y/N looked to her in surprise but quickly smiled and said, "Thanks, I really like your shirt." "Thanks." The two girls then fell silent and walked for a bit before the other girl turned to her and said, "I should probably introduce myself. I'm Elly Berkman." She held out her hand to shake Y/N's. "Nice to meet you. I'm Y/N Y/L/N." "Are all your classes at this campus?" asked Elly. "Yep, what about you?" "Nope, my night classes are here and my day classes are at the campus on Strawberry Plains. Do you have any night classes?" "No I don't." The two girls kept chit chatting throughout the tour and then turned to the subject of pizza when they got to the cafeteria. The two sat down at one of the center tables after getting their food and were slowly joined by other people and then parents. There was another brief explanation for how everyone would be separated again and then everyone went off into groups.

Elly and Y/N were in the same group again. They went back to the auditorium and endured another lecture before all the other groups joined them and they all listened to the safety lecture. After the final lecture everyone was dismissed. Elly went off to join her friends and Y/N and her mom went to the financial aid office to make sure that they had paid everything.

After double checking Y/N's mom went to the bathroom and Y/N waited by the front door. It was then that a fairly tall, auburn haired guy went and talked to her. "Hello." "Um, hi," she replied. "Are you waiting for someone?" "Yeah, my mom." "Do you mind if I wait with you?" "Not at all." Luciano leaned against the wall next to her and introduced himself. "I'm Luciano Vargas." He held out his hand to shake hers. She held out hers as well and gave him a firm but gentle shake. "I'm Y/N Y/L/N. Are you also waiting for someone?" "Yes, my brother and two friends. They had to go do something. Are all your classes here at this campus?" "Yes, and you?" "Same. Perhaps we'll have a class together." "Maybe." Your mother than arrived and you turned to leave. "It was nice talking to you Luciano." "You as well Y/N." You went off on your way as Luciano gave you a handsome smile.

Once in your mom's car she asked who he was. "Just someone who asked if he could wait with me." She didn't ask anything more and the two of you went home.

Luciano's pov

He watched Y/N leave, a smile on his face. Her voice was soft and easy to listen to. Her skin was also soft and smooth and her handshake gentle yet assertive. She really was perfect. His brother came up to him and asked, "So did it happen?" "Did what happen?" "Did you get a chance to talk to her?" Luciano's smile only grew as he replied, "Yes, yes I did." "And how did it go fratello?" "Very well." Lutz and Kuro rejoined them as well and the four males went home.
