Hide and Seek- Rhys Mathieson & Eric Hipwood

It was the day of my gold medal race. I had decided to keep my phone off until I had finished racing because of what had happened with Rhys.

**ERIC'S POV**

It was the day of the race and I was at mum and dad's ready to watch they coach gave me the day off training before the game because of the race. But he knew that I'd be playing anyway.

--THE RACE--

"Welcome to the 100m freestyle event here. Gold medal race." Basil said on the channel 7 broadcast

"How exciting Young Amelia Hipwood for Australia going for her first gold medal." Libby said

"Very exciting for all of Australia" Basil said as the swimmers started to walk out from the waiting room

"She is in her first Gold medal race and her first Olympics. What an achievement" Libby said

"Here they go. They are ready.They are on the blocks." Basil said

On your marks get set *beep* the automator starter said as they took off.

"Amelia was a little slow off the blocks but she has a good first and last stroke so I think she will catch up and do well" Libby said

"We are currently 5th in lane 3" Said Basil

"Here come the last 100. Come on Amelia push hard girl you can do this" libby said as Amelia swam and swam

"She's now in second. In a medal position" basil said

"SHE IS NOW A BODY LENGTH IN FRONT! CAN SHE HOLD ON" Libby said

"She has done it" Basil said as Amelia touched the wall

"She won. We have our first gold medalist in Amelia Hipwood!! How amazing, look at the smile on her face. She looks so happy" Libby said "We will head down to Nathan Templeton now ready for him to interview Amelia"

"Over to you Nath" Basil said

"Thanks Basil, now Amelia how are you feeling right now?" Nathan said

"I don't even know how I did that!" Amelia laughed

"Can you believe you got gold and you are the first gold medalist for Australia at these games?" Nathan said

"I am so honoured to be the first Aussie athlete to get gold for the country especially in the pool." Amelia said

"Are you proud of your efforts?" Nathan asked

"I am very proud. And can I just say I hope my luck tonight rubs off on my lions tonight. And good luck to my brother Eric. I miss you. And I couldn't have got to this stage without the help of my mum, dad and brothers so thank you and love you guys" Amelia said

"SHE DID IT" I screamed as Mum cried tears of joy

"Thats our girl" Dad said

"Holy shitttt" Tom said

"How fucking good" I said then listening to Amelia's interview. Why did she just say her brothers team? Then my phone buzzed.

Why couldn't he do that? I just didn't understand. I went up and had a shower and got into my club polo and got ready to head off to the game.

"See you at the game mum?" I asked as I picked up my car keys
