An Unknown Destiny...

Mystery (Kalinda's P.O.V.)

I woke up from a sleep full of crazy dreams, Xia was already up and alert cooking some small fish over a fire. "Wow you’re pretty organised" I mumbled, sleep still stuck to my throat. “Have you seen Moonika?” Xia asked while looking around. “Um no why?” I said still trying to shake the sleepiness. “I woke up and she wasn’t here and still hasn’t come back” Xia said her voice had a streak of worry in it. "Well im sure she will be back Xia" I said reassuringly. I stood up feeling the wrath of my muscles as they hurt from yesterdays fighting. “Im going for a walk, ill be back soon” I said to Xia. “Well don’t be long, breakfast is nearly ready” she replied. I could tell she was worried so I put on a big smile as I walked along the sand and out of sight. I walked along the shoreline getting lost in my thoughts, 'Where had Moonika gone? How long had she been gone? Did she get captured? As I was absent mindedly looking at the sand I came across footprints. Then as I followed them to the edge of the sea I saw what looked like someone had been dragged across the sand. I followed the trail to some rough rocks where the trail ended. I climbed up the rocks until I saw a hooded agent then hid behind a rock. "Where is the other girl?" I heard some guy yell. "I don't know what youre talking about" replied a girl that sounded alot like Moonika. I risked a glance around the rock and saw a scene that shocked me to the core. Moonika was bound around her wrists and ankles and had a deep cut on the side of her face. To make things worse there were about 6 other agents standing around. What do I do? I thought. I was getting ready for my attack when I heard someone cough behind me, I spun around and was face to face with an agent. I stood up and launched a kick straight at his stomach to my surprise he was ready for my attack and grabbed my leg and twisted it I yelled in pain as my kneecap crunched. "Kalinda!" I heard Moonika yell. I crumpled to the rock in too much pain to fight the agent off as he grabbed me by my hair and began trying to yank me up. I stood awkwardly and off balance for a few seconds before I fell down again. The agent pulled me up by my arm and began marching me to where they were keeping Moonika. "Stand there and be quiet" the agent said. "Which one of you killed the dead agent?" a guy with a scruffy beard said. "I did" Moonika said. I glanced at her she looked helpless bound like that but her eyes were like daggers. I couldn't think of one thing to say my mind was taken over by pain. "You will be taken to the mainland and put on trail for murdur" said the same guy which im guessing was the leader. To my surprise Moonika laughed "What?" demanded the leader. "Why put me on trial if I just confessed?" she asked still smiling. "Yes you are right, why do that when we can just kill you now" he said with a deadly look. "No don't!" I said without thinking. "And why not?" said the leader getting more impatient by the second. "Because-" but I was cut off by the sound of someone screaming. It was Xia! She had been captured too. "Kalinda!" cried Xia. "Do you know this girl?" the leader asked me. I looked at Xia then replied "No". "Well she seems to know you" he said. "Ive never seen this girl in my life" I lied. "What? Yes we are best friends!" yelled Xia fustrated. I frowned "You must have amnesia" I said. The look Xia gave me then cut my heart into a billion pieces, she didnt understand that I was trying to save her from these guys. "Well one of you is lying but which one?" said the leader as he looked from Xia to me. Xia was taken a few metres away and questioned as was I. "Who is she really?" asked a bald guy who seemed to be the one that was in charge of interviewing me. "I don't know" I said. "So you have never seen her?" he said circling around me like a hawk. "Never in my life" I said letting no emotion show on my face, something I had been able to do since a young age. "Well we will see who is the lier don't worry about that" he whispered in my ear. Xia was brought back "Now is the time for the truth" the leader said. I knew Xia would have cracked and told them everything. The leader came over to me and put a hand on my shoulder then removed it saying "We have found the truth and the lier will be prosecuted". I looked Xia in the eye and winked hoping she would know what was going on. "It seems you do know Xia" the leader said loudly. "Why did you lie, Kalinda?". I smiled and when I did not answer the leader slapped me across the face and shouted "Why?". "Because..." but I couldn't think of a single thing to say. Then two things happened at once, first Moonika screamed and second I fell to the ground. I was so confused until I realised my sore knee had been kicked in and I looked at Moonika and almost screamed she was leaning against the rock wall with her eyes closed and her mouth drooped. I couldn't put the pieces together until I saw that Moonika had been shot with an arrow. I screamed in rage and felt my power seep into my veins.
