An Unknown Destiny...

Someone New (Moonika's P.O.V.)

As I sat on the rock I cried, having pulled myself from the ocean and from the weird dream I had while I battled for consciousness underneath the wild waves. I was an emotional wreck; I thought I had recognised that girl before but I couldn’t think where. The sound of someone clearing their throat interrupted my thoughts; I jumped and turned around so fast I felt a little dizzy. “Its OK”, the strange boy said while he put his hands in the air. “I just thought I’d see if you want some help”. I turned so he couldn’t see the markings on my face. “Who are you?” I asked softly trying to hide the emotion in my voice.

“I’m Xavier” he said as he came a little closer. “Are you OK?” he asked with concern showing in his voice.

“Yes I am fine thank you” I said hoping he would just leave me alone.

“What are you doing all the way out here at this time of night? What does he mean this time of night? I wondered, then it hit me this was not what I thought, he was from the In-between Territory.

“I have to go” I said trying to avoid him seeing the marks on my legs and arms as well as the ones on my face.

“OK then, hey do you want a ride? My car is just up the road there”. I had no idea what he was talking about, I stood up wondering how to get his attention away from me while I made my escape. My mind was so preoccupied that I misjudged the distance to the next rock and fell cutting my leg on a small rock.

“Ouch” I said through clenched teeth.

“Are you OK?” asked Xavier as he held his hand out to me.

“Yes” I said my voice lathered in pain. I took his hand, looking up into his eyes and was captivated by the intense longing in them. I could have stared at his eyes for hours. The moment was cut short when he registered the marks on my face he instantly let go of my hand, and I fell. I heard a dull thump then felt searing pain in the back of my head; the last thing I remember was Xavier’s shocked look and a blue glowing coming from me.
