"I think we should ditch the guys for a few hours. Have a girl's night out. Let them cook dinner for themselves."
Vivian shrugs, "I'm sure Sami and Griff are capable of microwaving."
"I thought you loved cooking." Ty looked at Vivian confused.
"That was just to calm your dad's nerves. I can just tell him the girls are gonna go out and have some fun!" Vivian replies.
"I gotta be honest, I'd much rather do that than cook." I chime in.
Maybe tonight is a good time to get to know the situation I've gotten myself into.
"Works for me I guess. What're we gonna do?" Tyler shrugged.
"Well we could go shopping and then go out to eat? Or maybe we could go see a movie? It's completely up to you guys. I could take you somewhere like a skating rink or one of those places with all the bouncy houses. Your choice." Vivian suggested.
"I like shopping and food seems nice right about now. Running from a hospital is actually a lot harder than it seems."
"Ty? What do you think?" Vivian looked at her.
"That's sounds great! Do you Dad and Griff can handle themselves?" Ty faked enthusiasm.
"I hope so!" Vivian laughed standing up.
We walked up the stairs onto the main floor and found Dad and Griff sitting on the couch chatting about sports or something.
"Hey Sami, so I wanna get to know my daughters a little bit more so we're gonna go out. Can you and Griff handle yourselves for a few hours?" She grabbed the keys from the rack.
Ty flinched when she said "my daughters."Dad chuckled, "Yeah. Sure think Viv. Stay safe and have fun!"
"Thanks!" Vivian replied.
Vivian led us out in the garage and we stepped into the car.
The ride was mostly quiet for me, but Ty and Vivian had a very long conversation I didn't bother listening to.
My thoughts were on my current situation. Why was Vivian so nice? Why hadn't they addressed the dragon issue? Why they didn't seem worried about Mom? Lots of things I know I didn't have to worry about yet. But I couldn't help it. Vivian was being so nice. I found it hard to believe she was the "Step Zombie" Griff had named.
She seemed too nice for that. I sighed. So far I had blown up my house, nearly killed my only siblings, run from a hospital, met another set of parents, and basically turned my life upside down.
"Ash?" Vivian's voice snapped me back to reality.
"Hm?" I looked up at Vivian.
"Where would you guys like to eat? I know a few places, but I wanna see what you guys feel like first."
I was just about to answer when the car suddenly careened off the road and into some bushes.
Ty screamed and Vivian slammed on the brakes. Tyler's head went flying onto the dashboard with a sickening thud.
In an instant she was unconscious and there was blood on her forehead. Vivian was dazed in shock and fear. I felt like throwing up.
I quickly opened my door and threw up next to the car.
"Tyler! Ash! Are you guys ok?" Vivian shouted, clearly still dazed."Oh my god Tyler!" Now she's back. Vivian rushed out of the car.
When she saw me she bent over, "Ash, hon look at me!" I looked up. "Oh god. Oh god. Ok come here," she stepped around my puke, "Can you stand?"
I rose shakily to my feet and made my way towards her. My vision was blurry and my world was swaying.
"Ashley, stay with me ok? Let's go to your sister," Vivian guided me to my unconscious sister.
I sat down, leaning against a tree trunk. Vivian yelled at Ty to wake up. Finally, she just heaves her out of the car.
She ripped opens he first aid kit and quickly bandaged Tyler's head.
Then she grabbed her phone, "911? I need an ambulance..." Then I blacked out.
