We arrived at the city in the alley where Fell, Kobe and Tanner lived. It was just as dark and worn as the underground society where I had met Sin and Kade.

"This is our home," Fell led us into an old apartment building. The couch and chairs were filled with holes and the stuffing was falling out. Mice squeaked as we walked in.

The kitchen cabinets had chipped paint and some were missing hinges. Tanner and Kobe disappeared into one of the rooms down a hallway to the left.

"How long have you been here?" I looked at Fell who was opening the fridge and getting out lunch.

"About," she paused and thought, "Five years?"

"Five years?" Griff gaped.

"Yeah. No one wants a teenager when your in a foster home. We're not cute or lovable. So we run away. To run down, trashy places like this."

She swept her arm across the room, her voice held no humor or joy. No emotion.

"I'm sorry to hear that." I couldn't imagine that. Now you can. A small voice in my head muttered and tried to pollute my mind. I shut it down.

"Where do we start looking?" Griff questioned the grey haired girl.

"How old are you?" The question suddenly popped from my mind to my mouth.

"19. Why do you ask?" Fell raised her eyebrow.
"You've been here since you were my age." I stared at her.

"Yeah. A year younger, but it's all the same." She smirked.

I looked at her seriously, "How old is you daughter? Paige, right?"

"Yeah, she's four," Fell looked sheepish, "Look I knows teen moms have a bad rep for being sluts or whatever. But I swear I'm not. Also I'm not irresponsible, on drugs, or even that dangerous. I left my child with someone I thought I could trust."

She looked at Griff with hard eyes, but as she continued they softened, "Unfortunately, that trust was never there. I'm sorry for accusing you earlier. I need to find Paige."

Griff nodded. He was silent, but his eyes gleamed with thought, he spoke slowly, "What street did you last see Paige on?"

"Lorum. About a mile south from here." Fell's eyes lit up and she listened eagerly.

"Wrong." Griff replied immediately, "That's where you thought you saw her."

"I'm sorry what?" Fell glared, "Did you lie? Do you have her? Do you know who has her?"

"Okay, okay, calm down. Griff?"

"I know who has your daughter. Not personally, but through," he hesitated and glanced at me, "family."

I groaned.

"What? Is she in danger?" Fell grabbed my arm urgently.

I didn't know how to answer. Griff gave me a cautious look.

I took a breath, "She may already be dead."
Fell didn't waver. She looked me dead in the eye and said, "She may already be dead. That doesn't mean she is. We have to look. Tanner! Kobe!"

The two walked out of the room in a deep conversation.

"Griff and Dragon Girl know who has Paige."

"That's great!" Kobe smiled, suddenly the smile disappeared, "How would you know that?"

"Because we have great analysis skills and also we happen to know this person too well."

"What're you guys old buddies or something? Who is it?" Tanner questioned us suspiciously.

"We can't say. The more you know, the more dangerous this is," I replied then continued, "I have an idea of where he's going to be. The city I was in a few days ago. I met a boy there who might know him."

"Boy space friend or boyfriend?" Kobe raised her eyebrows suggestively.

"Neither actually. I consider him an enemy as of now."

"You going back to fight or to help?" Tanner looked at me, "You can't get caught up in an old rivalry if we go back."

"I won't." I replied simply.

Griff looked at me, "Fill me in on the way. Let's go find a way back to your city which is called?"

"Not sure actually. Never really learned that. The only place I know the name of is the Lost Society."

"Ok. You know where that is right?" Kobe asked.

"Not that hard to find. Anyone could find it they just don't."

"Meaning?" Fell looked at me.

"It's underground. It runs through the sewers. We could probably get there from here depending on the sewage system." I laughed.

"That might be hard given its dark down there. Also I've never traveled by sewer. We can walk or if anyone here know how to hijack a car?" Griff looked around the room.

Tanner raised his hand, "I got you bro," he laughed.

We packed some food for the road. As we were leaving the apartment, Fell pulled me aside.

"Thank you. I promise that when the sun sets you'll be on your way to your next destination."

"No problem," I smiled at her. Though I'm not so sure about leaving so soon. The person who had Paige wasn't just going to let her go. He was going to want a trade.

Griff and me in exchange for Paige.

That is if he hadn't killed her yet.
