"You look amazing!" Kade hugged me from behind. She had blindfolded me as she did my makeover and frankly I was a bit nervous.

"Can I look now?" I asked, desperate.

"Not yet," I felt cold water as she washed dye out of my hair. I had refused to let her cut it.
She dried my hair with a towel.

"Ok now!" She whipped off the blindfold and spun me around to face the mirror. My legs were exhausted from standing and my back was sore from bending over. As I looked into the mirror my mouth dropped open.

My hair was now short, a mix of blue and purple, and my eyes were grey.

To finish it off she had given me a rose tattoo on my arm. It wound up and around the top half of my arm. The detail was amazing. It also must have taken a long time to complete.

Which would explain why she knocked me out a few hours ago.

"Holy crap. You did amazing," I stared at myself in the mirror.

She flipped her hair, "I know."

I rolled my eyes. "Thanks."

She smiled at me in the mirror, "No problem."

Someone rustled the curtain of the room we were in.

"Come in!" Kade called.

Sin walked in and stopped short when he saw me.

"Surprised?" I muttered, crossing my arms. I strode over to him, Do you have my ID or did you just come to stare?"

Sin blinked, "Uh, yeah," he stuttered out, reaching into his bag and pulling out a folder.

"Thanks," I peered into it.

"We just need a picture of you." Sin looked at Kade.

"Got it!" She jogged out of the room leaving me and Sin in a still silence.

"Thanks for making my ID," I looked at him after a few moments of awkward silence.

"Sure," he took a breath,"I'm gonna miss you Dragon Girl."

"Yeah," suddenly a question popped in my head, "What's your name?"

He stayed quiet, but after a few seconds he came towards me. His face was inches from mine. His breath smelled like alcohol. He leaned down and whispered something. A name. His name. Not Sin.

"Devian Woods the second."

Several seconds passed. He stepped back as Kade walked into the room.

"Woah, Ash and Sin?" She smirked, "Didn't see that coming."

My face heated,"We weren't-"

Devian cut me off, "Relax Kade, nothing good happened. Still single," he raised his eyebrows at her.

Kade rolled her eyes, "Got the camera. Now let's make this quick. Dragon Girl's gotta pack."

She pulled me over to a wall without cracks or graffiti that would give the underground society away.

"Smile!" Kade held up he camera and clicked the button. "You look so cute!"

She showed me the camera, "I'll go print it out."

She disappeared once again.
She reappeared waving a piece of plastic in the air, "Addilyn Dare, welcome to the world!"

I laughed and took the card, "Thanks, I'm gonna go pack now."

"Sin'll take you," Kade nudged her head in his direction.

"Yep," he launched himself off the wall he was leaning on and opened the curtain, "After you."

"Thank you," I laughed and walked through.

"So Dragon Girl," Devian looked at me as we trudged through the tunnel, "Where're you off too? Big city? Country? There's no limit ya know."

"Not sure," I looked at my shoes, the tops were slightly damp from the puddles, "I can't go back to my old city and I don't know where my brother is."

"I'd give you suggestions, but this is the only home I know," I looked over at him. His hands were jammed into his pockets and his eyes were down.

"How'd you end up here?"

No response. I stopped. "Devian. Answer me."
He stopped and whirled to face me. "Don't ever call me that."

His dark eyes hardened with anger.

"I'll call you whatever I want until you answer my question," I stood firmly, "How'd you get here? And why Sin?"

Devian looked around, than grabbed me by my arm and pulled me through another tunnel into a larger room.

Darker and quieter than anywhere else I'd been in the entire system. Rats echoed and sirens and voices came from above. Davian pulled me into a corner.

"What I'm going to tell you, you repeat to no one." He looked me dead in the eye.

I nodded, but said, "If you don't want anyone to know, why tell me?"

"Because you'll believe me."

"What makes you so sure?"

"You're Dragon Girl." He said it like a fact. Like something you'd find in a history book. Like something everyone new to be true.

I nodded again and muttered, "If you can call me Dragon Girl, I'm gonna call you Devian."

He chuckled a bit, but sobered immediately, "Brace yourself."

I thought I was ready. How bad could it have been?

Here was kid telling me where he was from. It couldn't be that bad. But nothing could've prepared me for the shock.

The shock that came with the real story of Devian Woods.
