Your's and Harry's daughter was only fifteen when she came bursting through the front door and ran up to you and excitedly asked,
"Mom, guess what?!?!"
"What??!"
"I have a date tomorrow night!!"
Before you could even respond you heard Harry's feet rushing down the stairs and it was a matter of seconds before he entered the room.
"A date, you say? With who..??" Asked Harry, being the protective father that he is.
Darcy put her hands up as if she was trying to calm Harry and said,
"Now dad, I don't want you to get upset..."
Harry looked at her with a befuddled expression and said,
"Darcy, you're worrying me..."
Darcy bit her lip, adding to Harry's anxiety, and finally said,
"It's Aiden Horan.."
Harry just stared at her and said,
"Your Uncle Niall's son...?"
"Yeah..."
Harry nodded his head while he processed the information he was just given and said,
"Where are you two going?"
Darcy crossed her arms, looked at you, and asked,
"Do I really have to tell him..?"
You gave her a confused look and asked,
"Why wouldn't you tell him?"
"Because he might show up.." Darcy explained.
"Just tell me where you're going Darcy." Harry said with a stern look on his face as he crossed his arms.
"Alright..! We're going to Eyeskate, the ice skating rink right in front of the London Eye." Darcy confessed.
Harry nodded his head and said,
"Alright. Have fun, babe!" as he kissed Darcy's forehead and headed back upstairs.
The following night you and Harry were sitting in the living room when you heard a knock at the door.
"That must be Aiden." You said as you started to get up.
"Let me get it." Harry said with a serious look on his face.
Harry opened the front door to see the young, bright eyed Irish boy smiling back at him and loudly greeting him with,
"How are ye, Mr. Harry??!" as he extended his hand towards Harry.
Harry shook his hand as he responded with,
"I'm fine. Come on in. Darcy should be ready soon."
You walked into the entrance to say hello to Aiden.
As you and Aiden said hello, Harry went upstairs to tell Darcy that Aiden had arrived.
He gently knocked on her door with his knuckle and said,
"Darcy, Aiden's here."
A frustrated voice on the other side of the door said,
"Daddy, do I look okay??!" as Darcy opened the door.
Harry looked at Darcy wrapped up in her prettiest and most fashionable winter outfit. Harry smiled because even though she had on layers of clothes she still looked so grown up.
"You look beautiful." Harry assured her.
"Are you sure?" Darcy asked cautiously.
"Positive.. You look just like your mum." Harry said as he hugged his little girl.
Once Darcy and Aiden left to go ice skating, Harry started to put on his coat and shoes.
"What are you doing?" You asked Harry as you watched in confusion.
"What any good father would do, I'm going to go spy on them." Harry told you.
"Are you crazy??! What if Darcy or Aiden see you?!"
"Who cares?? They've been friends practically their whole lives so there's nothing left for them to talk about. Remember what happened when we ran out of things to talk about on a date??"
You just silently nodded your head as you remembered.
"Well, I'm off. I'll let you know how it went when I'm on my way home." Harry said as he kissed your cheek and rushed out the door.
A few minutes later, Harry had parked his car and was walking up to the Eyeskate rink when he heard a familiar voice calling out his name.
He turned around to see Niall rushing his way.
"What are ye doing here??!" Niall asked with a big grin on his face as he hugged Harry.
"I uhm-actually came to check on Darcy and Aiden." Harry slowly confessed to Niall.
"Wanna know a secret?" Niall asked.
"Sure" Harry responded.
"I did too." Niall said with a grin.
The two of them laughed as they continued walking together towards the ice rink.
After about an hour, they got bored with just sitting around so they decided to skate as discretely as they could.
They started skating around the ice when Harry noticed Aiden and Darcy come to a stop on the ice. Harry immediately knew what was about to happen when he saw Aiden put his hand on Darcy's cheek and began skating towards them faster. Niall was completely lost, but increased his speed to keep up with Harry.
"Sorry about this, Niall." Harry said under his breath.
"What?" Niall responded in confusion.
Just then Harry pushed Niall right in between Darcy and Aiden, causing all three of them to fall over onto the ice.
Harry caused a chain reaction because Darcy accidentally knocked over a stranger who knocked over someone else who knocked over someone else who knocked over someone else and so on.
Harry just watched in guilt as one person after another fell down onto the hard unforgiving ice.
"DAD!!! I can't believe you!!!" Darcy yelled out in anger as she immediately jumped to her feet and quickly made her way off the ice.
Aiden didn't say a word. He just followed Darcy into the crowd.
Harry looked back at Niall, who was still sitting on the ice smiling to himself.
"What are you smiling so wide about?" Harry asked Niall.
Niall just shook his head as he giggled and said,
"You legend!"
