One summer, you were working as a lifeguard at the beach when you fell head over heels for another lifeguard named Ashton. He was so happy and bubbly, just being around him brightened your day. You always worked the same shifts as Ashton so you really got to know him.
There wasn't much going on lately so you and Ashton would stand in the surf together and talk.
"So what are you doing tonight?" You asked him.
"Some of my friends and I are having a bonfire on the beach.. You should come. It's a lot of fun."
"I'll have to check and make sure I'm not all ready busy, but if I'm free then I'd love to come"
"Go check then!"
You gave him a confused look and asked,
"What?"
Ashton playfully nudged you and said,
"You said you would need to check to make sure you're not busy... So go check! I'll keep an eye on your section of the beach."
You hurried into the little hut you kept your things in and pretended to call someone to really sell your story to Ashton.
You walked back over to him and said,
"Looks like I'm going to a bonfire tonight..!"
Ashton smiled as he looked over at you and said,
"Sounds great. If you give me your address I'll pick you up and we can just walk there together."
"I'll text it to you after our shift." You told him.
When you two got off work, you hurried home to shower and put on your cutest outfit. It wasn't very long until you heard Ashton knocking on your door.
Even without his body drenched in suntan oil and him wearing little swim shorts, a white tshirt with the sleeves cut off, and his Ray Bans, he still managed to make your heart skip a beat.
"Wow, you look amazing." He said as he gave you a hug.
"Thanks! You ready to go?" You eagerly asked him.
Ashton giggled as he said,
"Ready if you are"
You followed him outside and down the street.
"So, are you seeing anyone right now?" He asked you.
You shook your head and said,
"Not right now. You?"
Ashton shook his head and said,
"Not at the moment."
He continued to ask you odd questions until you reached the bonfire that his friends had already built.
"There he is!" One of them proclaimed as he looked up from his guitar.
"Hello Lucas" Ashton replied to him.
He introduced you to each of his friends and a few girls that had tagged along like you.
"Sorry, we're kind of short on stuff for you to sit on.." Calum said.
"It's fine. (Y/N), you can sit down. I'll just stand." Ashton offered.
"Well, if you don't mind, I can like sit in your lap or something. That way we can both sit down." You suggested.
Ashton shrugged his shoulders and said,
"Only if you don't mind?"
