It's march and after a break from work I am finally heading back to Mexico to continue with the filming of Catching Fire. The break was short, like really short, but it was needed and now I feel a lot more better than what I did about two weeks ago when I left Mexico.
The plane hits the ground with a small bump and on the other side of the windows the tropical Mexican climate appears. Mexico is nothing like LA where I've been staying these past two weeks. I like it here but I wouldn't trade my home for this place. Never. well, maybe I would actually. The paparazzis here are so much nicer than the ones I have back home.
At the airport I meet up with two of my favorites. My dear friend Elizabeth, who plays Effie, is the first one to give me a hug.
"It's so nice to see you again, a Jennifer!" She says as her arms tightens around me "How was the trip?"
"It was a little bumpy but it's was okay, thank you." I say with a huge smile on my face. Our hug ends and I move on to Woody, or Uncle Woody as we call him on set, who plays Haymitch.
"Hey kiddo," he says while hugging me ", it's good to have you back."
About an hour later I enter my new room on the same hotel we stayed at the last time. I throw my bags on the bed to unpack them later and then I walk through the room to the balcony. The view is amazing, just like the last time, but this time it's even more beautiful. The sun's still up but I can imagine the beautiful colors on the sky touching the water when the sun decides to go to sleep later tonight. I am definitely going to spend every evening on this balcony for the rest of this shooting.
All of a sudden I get interrupted by an intensive knock on the door. Scared that it's some spanish talking hotel manager I walk as quietly as possible towards the door to look through the little hole. Hopefully it's just someone from the make up who's here to tell me when I need to be on set tomorrow, but it's not and it's not some spanish talking hotel manager either. It's better than that. It's Josh. I open the door with excitement and the first thing I get to see is his huge adorable smile that feels like home to me.
"Jen!" He says without giving me any chance to respond with something before hugging me "I've been missing you so much, you have no idea."
"I've been missing you too," I say with my head against his shoulder ", so much." And that's when I, for the first time in ages, finally feel like I'm home. Josh is home to me.
