The hotel we're staying at has a rooftop bar. A rooftop bar with blue neon lights in the bar and some fairy lights over the sitting area. We've been sitting here for about 25 minutes and Jena is already on her way to the bar buying us our second round of drinks. I'm feeling a bit dizzy already but it hasn't been too long since we left the sushi restaurant after two glasses of wine. I haven't been drunk in a while though and I've never been drunk with these guys so I'm excited.
"Hey Jen," Sam says from his grey armchair ", do you think I did good? Be honest."
I cross my legs "With what?"
Josh leans over on my armrest "Playing Finnick. He's a bit... anxious about it." he whispers while Sam's massaging his temples.
Sam sighs "Yeah well, everyone adores Finnick so I'm just nervous that made him look bad you know."
"I felt the same way about Katniss when we first finished the first movie." I admit "The fans of the book didn't seem to like that I'd be playing the role of their favorite character so I do actually understand the pressure you're under but I promise you - they won't be disappointed."
Josh nods "And they didn't like me either which I'm actually not too sad about because in the books Peeta's taller than Katniss, which I'm not so I kind of agree with them. They should have chosen someone taller than me, let's be honest."
I turn my head to stare at him, ten centimeters away from his face since he's still leaned over my armrest "Are you kidding me?"
"What?"
Sam laughs "When I saw the movie for the first time I thought that you were excellent as Peeta so don't say that."
I nod, still staring at him, but more angrily now "Exactly, and if they would have chosen someone else you and I would have never become friends and our friendship is one of the best things that has ever happened to me so don't say that."
Jena arrives to the table with our new drinks on a plate "What's up?" she asks when she sees the look on my face "What did I miss?"
"Oh nothing." Josh says "I just said that Peeta, as the movie character, would have turned out better with someone taller than me."
"Because he's taller than Katniss in the books?"
He nods "Exactly."
She laughs "Well that's stupid, Josh." she sits down in the armchair between me and Sam and sips on her new pink drink "Your height has nothing to do with your acting skills. Just get over it, okay? You're the perfect Peeta and the whole world agrees with me."
"But-"
"No." I stop him while taking my new drink from the plate "Let's talk about something fun instead. What do you guys feel like doing tomorrow?"
"Shopping!" Jena yells out, choking on a small ice cube "I really need a new handbag."
Sam rolls his eyes "You brought like three handbags here. You don't need another one."
"Yes I do...." her voice gets ignored by my ears as she keeps trying to explain why she definitely needs a new handbag. My attention is instead drawn to Josh who's sitting next to me - talking to a girl who just came up to me. She's tall and her dark, long hair is tied up in a pony tail. A sudden feeling of jealousy hits me which surprises me. Of course Josh can talk to whoever he wants, but I want him to talk to me and pay his attention to me instead of this Australian girl who looks like a stereotypical swimsuit model.
"Josh," I say, interrupting them ", I need to talk to you." I don't. I don't have anything specifik to talk to him about but I just need him to talk to me and not to her.
