The next morning I wake up with the worst headache ever and the sun is shining through the large windows which makes it all even worse. I want and I need this to be over, now.
I reach after my phone to text Josh that I'm up. He told me last night that I absolutely can't leave bed in the morning without him knowing. When I asked him why he just told me that "What if you faint?" And I don't want that to happen so it's the best for both of us if I do what he tells me to do.
A few minutes later when I'm up, unpacking my bags, Josh walks in wearing his pajamas.
"What are you doing?" He asks with a serious tone in his voice.
"I'm just unpacking some... Is that a problem?" I ask confused.
"Yes, Miss Lawrence, in fact it is." He says coming towards me "I told you to stay in bed if I'm not here." He takes me by my shoulders and leads me back to bed.
"No, Mr Hutcherson, in fact you only told me to text you as soon as I woke up." I say.
"Maybe you can't remember because of your concussion." I lay down in bed and he puts the blankets over me like my dad did when I was a kid. "Now, I want you to stay here."
"What? Why?"
"Because you need some medicine and then, maybe, you can unpack your bags." He smiles at me "Is there anything else I can get you my dear?"
I sigh "A beer?"
"No," he laughs ", the doctor says that you can't have alcohol under your circumstances. Do you want anything else?"
I shake my head, a little bit grumpy "No, just get me that damn medicine."
"Alright," he gives me a kiss on the forehead ", I'll be back real soon."
About an hour later he comes back with a surprisingly big smile on his lips.
"Where have you been?" I ask, upset that it took him so long.
"I was just getting something to eat." He says, still with that huge smile.
"Oh okay," I sit up ", but I'm hungry too Josh and I've been waiting here FOR AN HOUR."
"Hey calm down," he sits down on my bed ", here, take the pill and drink the water and then afterwards I have a surprise for you."
"What..."
"Just do it okay?" He laughs, giving me the pill and the glass of water.
I swallow it in a rush and while I'm putting the empty glass on my bed table I can hear Josh fixing with something in the hallway.
"Josh, what are you doing?" I ask and in the next second he appears in the bedroom with a huge brick with food. His lips has an ever bigger smile now.
"I never said that I was getting only me something to eat." I smile "I told you that I'll take care of you, right?"
"Yes you did." I can't stop smiling over the thought that he cares this much about me "Thank you so much, Josh."
He sits down with me in the bed with the food between us. Strawberries, grapes, bread, chocolate milk, muffins, cereals, yoghurt, juice, oranges and everything else you would ever feel like having for breakfast. Josh literally brought me the breakfast paradise.
"Josh, this is too much...."
"Well you don't have to eat all of it right now obviously..."
In laugh "No, I was going to say that this is too much because you don't have to do this. You don't have to take care of me like this."
"I know, but the thing is that I want to take care of you like this."
"You do?" He nods "Why? I mean, I wouldn't mind if you went surfing with Sam instead."
"Nooo, Jen, I would never choose Sam before you. I dont even know Sam."
"Well, that's the thing," I say ", you need to hang out with him to get to know him."
He laughs "Do you have to always be this stubborn about everything?"
"Yeah but only when I'm talking to you."
"Why?"
"Because I like to talk to you and I don't want our conversations to ever end."
