Chapter 33: Split

This chapter is where it starts to get sad and there's blood and stuff

We sit there debating what our next moves could be. We all have fear in our eyes and we know this won't end very well.

"I think I've had a good life" Mark starts.

"Me too" Jack says.

"And I saved so many lives and I'm happy for that" He says again and Sean just nods to everyone of his words. "It was nice knowing you guys... I suppose... You too Patty"

She rolls her eyes "Thanks."

"Whether we make it out alive, let's try our best." He says "If it comes that I have to sacrifice my life... I will"

"me too" Jack says.

"Definetly" Tessa adds.

"You bet" Patty smiles.

"Of course" I say and we all stare at eachother for a moment. "We were the ones that started this so I think we should also be the ones to end it" We all nod and grab some supplies.

We head out the door, piled with our phones and... Yeah we're pretty much screwed.

"LET'S DO IT!!!" Sean shouts.

We pile into the car and drive towards the direction of the attack. There's a lot of traffic around there so we had to take a detour... Along with a break.Jack wanted ice cream.

We sit in the car eating our ice cream and I stare at Jack "What? If we're gonna die I at least want to eat something I like before then" he says.

We head downtown, you can see fire everywhere and there's police and whatnot.

"You shouldn't be here right now" An officer states.

"I'm sorry, but we have important business" Mark explained.

"I can't let you do that-" he says.

Patty hands him an envelope "Here"

"Grant accessed" He puts his hand out. We stare at Patty in confusion and she just smirks like she's the coolest person ever.

The sirens are blasting as loud as the music in a concert, it's crazy. There's flames everywhere and people stuck in building, crying people. You can also see bodies... There's lifeless bodies everywhere.

"MARKY?!?" You hear. Mark stops the car and whispers for everyone to get out.

"Split up" He whispers "It's not a good idea but it might lower our chances of death... Probably not but do it anyways" we split up and we shake our phones signalling to call if anything happends.

I slowly head into a building, making sure nobody sees me. I hear something. I creep around and hide behind a pillar to see what it was.

"Mommy...Please wake up" I hear. I glance at what it was, it was a little girl. A little girl holding a teddy bear, she's wearing a pink dress with a bow in her hair.

I walk out from behind the pillar "...Hey" I say.

She turns around and begins to cry more.

I put my hand out "Don't worry, I won't hurt you" I say as I walk closer to her.

She wipes her face with her teddy bear's arm. "O...Kay" she says.

"What happened" I ask as I walk closer, I glance at her mother, her eyes are lifeless... She has blood spilling from her stomach but beside that... She's smiling.

"Mommy... She got hurt and she's sleeping now... I think" She says.

"Can I ask... What's your name?" I smile as if everything's alright... It isn't.

"Isabella" She smiles "But call me Izzy" She wipes another tear. "Will mama be okay..?"

I sigh "She'll be okay" I lie. "Now... Izzy, I think I should get you out of here" I put my hand out for her to grab it.

"Why?" She asks.

"It's not safe here" I smile but it turns into a frown.

"What about my mommy?" She asks.

I pick her up "I... I'm sorry"

"But... Mommy..." She says.

"Please... Let's go" I feel a tear slip down my cheek. This girl, I feel so bad for her, she's younger than I was when that happened and... I ask one more question "Where's your dad?"

"...I don't know" She says "Mommy says he went to work when I was little"

I ask once more "has he come back from work?"

"No... I don't know what he looks like... But I know he loves me!" She smiles.

I have her in my arms and carry her outside. I search for a nearby police officer.

"Sir" I ask "please take this girl to safety" I say as I walk closer to a man in his 60's or so.

"Miss, you shouldn't-"

"Please" he gives in and I set Izzy down and give her to him.

"Where are you going?" Izzy asks.

"I have something to do." I say.

I smile and walk off.

I'm gonna write a couple chapters to make up for you awesome people.

Once again, I'm stalling a bit... The story would be short if I didn't stall it.
