Olivia's POV

We pretty much left immediately after Jennifer told us what was going to happen.

Even though nightfall was near, we wanted to get started.

Our armor was already on, all we had to do was get what we needed to fight and head out.

Out of habit I brought a bow, which I accompanied with a sword.

Hopefully I could hold my own if we ended up having to fight this battle with The Master without Jessie.

Chapter Ten- Befriending The Wolf

I walked at the front of the group with Jen, staying silent as she lead the way.

Jessie and Petra were in the middle with Lukas and Axel hanging back, making sure no wither wolves could get to Jessie.

"So, uh, you seem to really know a lot about the master..." I trail, trying to make conversation with her.

A simple shurg and she replies with, "I guess."

She really didn't want to talk to me, but I really wanted to talk to her.

Mainly about her ears and tail.

"Can I ask about your ears and tail or is that offensive or something?" I ask, making her sigh in defeat.

"Go ahead. I know you're just gonna ask questions anyway." She mutters in defeat.

I smile, happy to be learning something new about her now.

"How did you get them? Were you born with them or did The Master do that too?" I ask, making her shake her head.

She looks over at me, eyes narrowed.

"The Master isn't at fault for my abnormal looks. That's really my own fault. I messed with something I shouldn't have, and now I'm kinda stuck without a way to the place where they can fix me." She answers.

That confused me.

"What do you mean? Where is it? I'm sure we can get you there." I point out, finding myself wanting to help her.

She shakes her head.

"I don't think you could. The place is reeeeeeaaaaly far away. Farther than the farlands really. But that's besides the point." She grumbels, her ears flattening to the back of her head.

What's farther than the farlands?

I stay silent for a second before I continue my rain of questions.

"So how did you get them?" I ask, making her grumble something incoherent under her breath.

I wait a second longer as she seems to think over telling me.

"I got them when I went into a forbidden forest just outside my village. I fell into a pool and almost drowned. A wolf had fallen in with me, and I got fused with it. At first it was like I was two different people but now its just one. Wolf-girl I guess." She explains.

It seemed unorthodox, but this entire situation seemed the same, so I guess it had to be true.

"Okay, sounds weird, but okay. Anyway, can I keep asking you questions?" I ask, making her look over at me.

Her eyes seem to be angered for a second, like she's annoyed with all these questions, but it fades away when I flinch.

"Sorry. I'm not used to anyone being interested in me whatsoever." She apologizes, looking down at her shoes.
