Stars

but some of us are looking at the stars."

I woke up the next morning hungry, still not receiving and sign of memory whatsoever.
Lay still, close your eyes, breathe....
I thought to myself last night before I fell asleep.
Think of all of the possibilities. Math, how do you divide fractions? Okay, now who thought it to you, how did you learn?
No memories came.
I was like a blanket your 16 year old child kept ever since they were two. Pathetic and useless.
I am not useless.
I think about what Zayn told me last night. The fact that I was in a coma, he was my bestfriend, and something to do with a friend that was with me during all of this. Was that friend him? I doubt it, but I can't help myself but wonder about it. Think about it.
'Yes you can.'
Zayn's words popped into my head instantly, an instant shock, and the feeling of my whole heart falling to the pit of my body. I roll over and smother my face into the hospital pillow. I ball my hands into a fist and pound on the side of the bed, receiving no attention from anyone. Good.
I don't want any attention. Ever since I woke up, the only person I talk to is Zayn. He tells me about his job at some store name JCPenny's, and I listen to the melody of his voice and focus on how his words come out of his mouth as smooth as chapstick.
Last night he told me a story of a girl at the age of nine.
"Move!" the nine year old said teasing her bestfriend next to her.
"Why?" his deep voice filled the dark, clear night.
"Just, come on let's go."
He put on a flashing smile and walked behind the average nine year old.
"Here," she came to a stop.
"What's so special about this place?"
She pointed up, revealing the stars like a surprise under a blanket. She stared at him the whole time as he marveled.
"The stars." he stated.
"You're the only one that knows, okay? You have to pinky promise not to tell." she held out her pinky and he squeezed it tight with his.
