Tessa raced around the dorm, searching through different clothes, each with the same result.

"No no no..." She mumbled as she threw the offending garment onto the ground.

After a long week of grueling practice and agonizing over her phone call with Paul, the night was finally here. The only problem was, she still had no idea about what to wear.

Franny walked into the dorm and ducked just in time as a patent leather shoe came sailing towards her and narrowly missed her head.

"Don't worry about me, I'm perfectly alright!" Franny sarcastically shouted "It's not like I almost got my eye taken out or something!"

"Hmm... What?" Tessa finally seemed to notice that there was someone other than herself in the room.

"I just came in to see how everything's going, but I think I've already got my answer." She surveyed the room and payed close attention to the larger piles of clothes strewn about."So, what time did you say he was coming?"

Tessa paused her frantic searching and turned around to stare at Franny, thoroughly confused at her calm demeanor.

When Tessa had told her about her impending date with Paul, Franny was the one who could barely hold it together. She was the one nitpicking over the little things, making Tessa learn quick facts about her date for possible conversation topics, and stressing about what Tessa would wear. Now, suddenly on the big night, Franny was as cool as a cucumber while Tessa was a walking mess.

"Uhh, he said to be ready around six."

"And judging by the state of our room, I'd say you're not even close to being ready."

"Nope." Tessa replied and went back to searching.

"And you've looked at everything?" Franny questioned.

"Pretty much." She tautly answered.

Franny thought for a second and then snapped her fingers, a lightbulb going off in her head.

"I'm guessing you haven't looked through my clothes yet."

"No, but I'm probably going to need to with the way things are going." Tessa griped.

"Good." Franny said, then walked to her drawer. This caught Tessa's attention and she watched as Franny pulled something out of it.

Tessa couldn't tell what it was until Franny turned around and held it out at full length.

It was a cobalt blue dress with a Peter Pan collar and was double breasted. The sleeves were long and finished off with white cuffs, while the skirt looked like it would barely pass her upper thigh. Miniskirts and anything that didn't come close to passing a person's knee was the new thing. But of course, Tessa didn't have anything like that in her closet.

"Oh my, Franny, it's lovely!" Tessa exclaimed.

"I glad you like it, cause I think you should wear this one tonight."

"Are you sure? It looks so expensive."

"Yes I'm sure! You're gonna look amazing in this dress." Franny said as she thrust the dress into Tessa's hands and shoved her into the bathroom.

Franny was right. She did look amazing in the dress. The blue color really brought out the blue in her eyes. While her blonde hair and pale skin didn't look washed out.

She brushed off invisible dirt from her dress and walked out of the bathroom. Franny was attempting to clean up the mess of clothes while Paul Anka crooned out of the record player.
