"That's it," Franny exclaimed when she walked into the dorm and saw Tessa in the same position as she had been that morning. "I'm taking you out tonight."

"What," Tessa rolled over and gave her friend a look of contempt. "Why?"

"Because, you don't do anything except attend dance classes and mope around." Franny exclaimed as she quickly sat down on Tessa's bed, forcing her to move her legs out of the way so they wouldn't be squished.

"I'm just tired from all the practice. It's not moping." She insisted, giving Franny a dirty look.

"Of courses isn't." Franny made it clear she thought what Tessa said was bullshit. "Why would you be moping all day? It's not like you broke up with Paul McCartney or something."

"I'm not sad about breaking up with Paul." Tessa insisted, sitting up against her pillows. "And, we didn't break up, anyways. How could we when we weren't even technically dating?" She tried to seem unbothered by her 'breakup' with Paul, but, truthfully, it hurt. It hurt a lot.

It had been a month since the last time she saw him and she still couldn't get him out of her room head. Tessa had thought that with how busy she was with dance, it would be easy to forget about the Liverpudlian. Instead, it seemed everything she did reminded her of him. Just yesterday, Tessa was in the middle of meeting with one of her professors to go over her final grade, when his secretary brought in his morning coffee. Black. Just like how Paul's father drank his. Suddenly, all she could think about was that day in Liverpool and what she did with him that evening.

It was a nasty cycle, and it didn't stop there. Every little thing she did brought back memories of their times together. Even when she was asleep, Tessa still thought of him. Her dreams were filled with his beautiful brown eyes and heavily accented voice. She just couldn't escape him. Not that she hadn't tried, of course. For several days after the infamous train ride, Paul tried to get in contact with her. Many times throughout the day, fellow dancers would come into her room to tell her that a man by the name of James was wanting to speak with her. And, every time, she told them to tell James to buzz off. Soon enough, he stopped calling the school. It hurt like hell, ignoring Paul, but, she needed to stay strong if she wanted to move on with her life. Even if others didn't agree.

Franny seemed to be all up in her business, trying to convince Tessa to give Paul another chance. She definitely did a 180 on her opinion about their relationship, but, Tessa knew that mostly had to do with whatever was going on between her and George. Really, their whole relationship consisted of that afternoon on the train and one evening where they went dancing with a couple of friends. Yet, Franny acted as if it were the be-all and end-all of relationships. She hadn't even spoken to him in two weeks, for crying out loud! It wasn't like she was some relationship expert.

Still, Franny wasn't completely wrong. Tessa could see how her actions over the past couple of weeks could seem like mopping. And, if she was honest with herself, that's exactly what she had been doing for the month.

Not that she'd ever admit that to Franny.

No, the best option was to pretend that everything was fine, and eventually, everything would be fine.

"You're lying." Franny told Tessa, giving her friend a sad smile. "But that's ok. You just need to take your mind off the problem."

"Oh, yeah," Tessa felt skeptical about what her friend had in mind. "And, what do you suggest?"

"We're going to the Flamingo Club." Franny informed her.
