Chapter 20

I walk in and see Grayson wide awake and walking around his room. He's on the phone, and just by looking at the expression on his face, I can tell he's talking to with Cameron.

"Hey Sky," he greets me quickly before yelling into his phone. I hate seeing him so angry, but I can see why he's pissed. I would be too if my best friend was trying to steal my girl.

"Put it on speaker," I say so Grayson could hear, but low enough so Cam couldn't hear.

Gray puts him on speaker and I sit on the ledge of the bed. Grayson sits beside me while Cameron yacks away on the phone.

"Like literally I might be needed stitches now so thanks Gray. And you're paying for the hospital bill. There's no reason why I should considering you're the one who thought it was okay to just punch me a million times," Cameron ranted. I can't take him seriously. He's just listing off things he wants Grayson to do or pay for. Realistically, Cam doesn't need stitches or need to go the hospital. He has a couple bruises, nothing major. And he's being so dramatic about it, it's funny actually.

"You're so dramatic Cameron. This call is going nowhere so bye and don't come over anymore thanks and-" Grayson begins before being interrupted.

"Just hear me out."

"No Cam. I'm done with this."

"But Gray, she loves me back. She literally said it herself. You're little 2 week relationship is cute or whatever, but ultimately Skylar will be mine."

He's so delusional and unrealistic. Like I would ever choose him over Grayson. I wouldn't choose anyone over Grayson actually. He's the one person for me. Cam is just a friend. And pretty soon he'll end up being even less than that.

ETHAN! I left him on the phone. Oops.

I hop off the bed, run downstairs, and plop onto the couch.

"You still there?" I ask.

"Always," Ethan answers. I smile at his answer. It's kind of awkward remembering how Ethan and I "dated" or whatever that was. And I now I'm in a real relationship with his brother. Crazy how things happen sometimes.

No one really knew what to say after that. I mean would I say? "I'd always be there for you too"? Anything I'd say would end up sounding awkward, so I say nothing at all.

More silence.

"You talk to Cameron recently?" he finally asks. But what type of question is that?

"No. Why? Should I talk to him?"

"I mean yeah. You guys are still friends right?"

"We're still friends but it's just weird now. Because of the whole Grayson thing I don't really know how to approach him anymore."

"Just talk to him or at least text him. He's done a lot for you, you know? So I don't think you should cut him off entirely. But it's your life. Do whatever you want."

Now he's making me feel guilty for ignoring him. Thanks.

"I guess I could answer his texts?" I suggest.

"Yeah. Answer them right now."

C: I know you don't like to see us fight

C: Skylar?

"For the first time." How would he know? I mean it was my first time but I never told him. Why would he assume it was my first?

C: was it good?
C: wanna sleep over again?
C: last night was fun :)

C: I'll just keep spamming you until you answer
C: things aren't gonna be awkward now right?
C: I mean I like you but if you don't love me back, can we still be friends?

I do know that song. It's Training Wheels by Melanie Martinez but that doesn't matter.

"Well what did he say?" Ethan asks. I literally forgot he was even on the phone.

I read back all the messages to Ethan.

"Well do you?" He asks.

"Do I what?"

"Do you know the song?" Oh my god.

"Yes I know the damn song. Does it matter?"

"It was just a question. Calm down princess."

"I'm not a princess."

"You're not but you sure as hell act like one."

"Sorry. I'm just annoyed because of Cameron and the stupid fight."

"I understand. You can talk to me about it anytime you want. Okay?"

"Thanks."

"And Skylar?"

"Yeah?"

"One more thing. I'm in love with you."

"Uh now's not the time for tha-"

"I'm just kidding Sky. Not everyone's in madly love with you."

"Okay," I answer laughing a little.

"Talk you later Sky."
