Chapter 5
Isabella
"Can I go play on the computer in the office?"
I nod my head at Carson and he takes off to the back of the store. He bumps into Sed on the way and I hear the shouting at each other.
Boys.
Today is Saturday so I have to bring Carson to work with me. I don't have a sitter and I don't trust him to be left at home by himself for obvious reasons.
Sed walks up to me at the front desk. "I'm going to file a harassment claim against your brother."
I laugh. "Suck it up. I don't know why you guys act like you hate each when in actuality, you guys love each other."
He shrugs. "Well we don't today."
I laugh one again. "Anyway, can you watch over the front while I finish up stocking the shelves?"
"Sure. I need to do some of my homework anyway."
I nod my head. I walk into the history section which is where I last left the cart full of books. As I'm placing the books on the shelf, my mind can't help but wonder to last night's events. I haven't heard from any of the Moretti"s. I've tried calling Gabi, but she hasn't picked up or returned any of my calls. I don't have any of the boys numbers but if they wanted to contact me, I'm pretty sure they have the resources to contact me.
I let out a stressful sigh. I guess me and Gabi's friendship is over. I don't know how their family works, but I know for a fact everyone is intimidated by Leo except Lucca and Santino.
Why is that?
Also, how dare Leo bring up my mother in that conversation in front of Carson. My mom leaving impacted Carson in ways I can't even explain and I know he's still not over her leaving, but's he's managing.
I shake my head to get rid of my thoughts and continue to stock the shelves. I'll think about that stuff later.
Once four o'clock comes around, Dorothy walks into the store and tells me and Sed that we can go. I grab Carson and leave in no time. I'm completely exhausted. Sed chooses to stay.
Once me and Carson reach our house, I see a foreign SUV sitting in front of my house.
"Who's that Izzy?" Carson asks curiously.
"I'm not sure. Let's just go inside." I say cautiously.
I grab Carson's hand and walk up our driveway. I grab the keys out of my bag and right when I turn the key to unlock the door I hear someone call my name which results in me letting out a groan of agitation.
I continue to unlock the door and I usher Carson inside and I tell him to go to his room.
Once I hear his door shut, I turn around and see not only one Moretti, but there's three standing right in front of me with guilty expression hanging on their face.
I sigh. "Come in guys."
They all nod and they follow me into the living room and we all take a seat.
"Bella I'm so sorry." Gabi blurts out once we are all situated.
"We're sorry too Isabella. We didn't know that was going to happen." Maceo pipes in.
"He's never treated one of our friends like that before." Gabi says, repeating Lucca's words.
I sigh and run my hand through my hair. "Guys, I would say that it's fine but it's not. I know you guys didn't have any control over the situation and I'm not mad at any of you. I just don't want to be put in another situation like that again. The things that your dad said is... Unforgivable." I say carefully.
