I'm just making up the daughters names cause it's easier for me than to write y/D/N every time
JASON
It was getting pretty late and you had put your 5 year old daughter down to bed about an hour ago. You lay on the couch, watching TV and waiting for Jason to get home from work. You two both get home at different times so lately it's been hard to spend time together.
You hear the front door knob jiggling and you turn around to see Jason. You smile and walk over to him and press your lips against his but quickly pull away when you taste the whiskey on his mouth. He puts his head down because he knows he's been caught.
"You're kidding me right? Are you seriously drunk right now?" you scoff.
"I'm not drunk, I only had one drink." he defends himself while setting his brief case down.
"Oh sorry, you're not drunk but you had to stop on the way home to get a fucking drink." you whisper harshly, trying not to wake your daughter. "I guess I should mention that your daughter has been staying up every night just to tell you goodnight but you were too busy drinking." you add.
Hearing this made Jason's heart break. Shiloh was such a daddy's girl and they had a special bond. He rubs his face in frustration while trying to find the right words to say. "Listen, I'm not getting bad again, I was just stressed."
"We all get stressed Jason, but that doesn't mean we have to turn to alcohol," you start while walking back into the living room, with your daughters room just down the hallway. You remember all the times Jason would stumble in drunk and you would make your daughter stay in her room so she wouldn't see her daddy like that. It pains you to remember these moments. "I'm not going through that again." you say, your voice breaking a little.
"You won't have to!" Jason shouts. Tears stream down your face as you bury your face in your hands. You hear the door open and you both turn to see Shiloh standing with her blankie in her hand. She clearly notices the tears that coat your face.
"Mommy are you okay?" she asks. Your breath hitches in your throat as you quickly and discreetly wipe away the tears.
"Yeah, Mommys fine, go back to bed okay?" She looks to Jason who smiles sadly at her.
"Hi Daddy." she smiles.
"Hi baby, go back to bed. I'll be in there to say goodnight soon." She nods and walks back to bed, her little feet making the cutest noises as they lad against the floor. You can't help but to break down. You hated the fact that she had to hear and witness that.
Jason walks over and hugs you tightly, resting his chin on the top of your head. "I'm sorry Y/N. I'm sorry. Shh, calm down. You're alright, I'm alright. I won't drink just calm down." he whispers into your ear.
"Please, don't do this to yourself and us again. We love you too much and need you." you cry silently.
"I won't. I won't. I love you so much."
"I love you too."
MIKE
"How are we going to pay for this?" Mike groans while looking over papers.
"Well, insurance will cover most of it." you tell him while looking at papers also. You had gotten into a fender bender and totally damaged the back of someone's car. To say Mike was furious about it is an understatement. It was pretty late, meaning your 7 year old daughter was in bed asleep.
"Mike, I'm sorry, I didn't try to." you mumble.
"Yeah, well you did." he he says while sorting through the paperwork that is laid out across the kitchen table. "Maybe if you were actually paying attention this wouldn't have happened."
