This is gonna be so sappy and ugh lol
JASON
Jason held you close to him, so close you could hear every exhale and inhale of breath he took, you could hear his heart beating at a steady rhythm which somehow soothes you.
"I love you." you whisper while tracing random shapes and numbers on his chest.
"I love you more." he says back, pressing a kiss to your forehead, your heart swelling at such a small but meaningful gesture. You glance up at him and see him furrowing his eyebrows as if he is thinking intently about something.
"What?" you ask, curiosity taking you over.
"I-nah, it'a stupid." Jason laughs nervously. You tilt your head slightly at him, signaling for him to say what he was going to. "I just, do you ever wonder what love is? What our love is?" he asks cautiously.
You smile softly, looking at him, and then you think for awhile. You finally know what your answer is and rest your head back on his chest. "I think our love is me feeling comfortable taking my makeup off in front of you. It's you reassuring me that I'm beautiful with or without it. It's you and me being ourselves in front of each other. It's also you opening up to me and vice versa. It's complete and utter comfort Jason." you tell him.
He's silent for awhile, probably trying to sort out what you just said. But the silence is comfortable because it's you and Jason.
"Why are you so smart?" Jason asks. You can just picture the smirk on his face through the tone of his voice.
"I'm not smart, I'm just in touch with my emotions." you joke causing a laugh to erupt from Jason's throat. You switch positions so you're laying on top of Jason with your legs sprawled out over his.
"In all seriousness, I do love you." you tell him, a smile on your face but sincerity in your eyes.
"I know baby girl, I love you too." he says, his hands resting on your arms. You lean down and kiss his nose. He returns the same motion, letting his lips land on your nose.
MIKE
"You're not using a chaser?" Emily gasps while you down another shot of vodka. Mike sat next to you with an arm around your waist, running his thumb in circles on your hip. He was drunk, but not as drunk as you.
For some reason, you were giggling uncontrollably at the fact that Hanna had spilled some vodka on the carpet of Aria's basement. "Okay, you need to go to bed," Mike starts while standing you up. "Jump on." Mike says while bending his knees slightly. You jump onto his back, letting your head rest on his shoulder.
"Bye guys, I'm about to go have some amazing sex!" you shout. The other girls let out gasps and laughs as Mike trudges upstairs.
He sets you down on the bed and digs through his drawers and hands you one of his sweatshirts which you gladly put on in place of your previous shirt. You pull down your jeans and climb under his covers, holding out your hands for him. He collapses next to you and turns to face you also. He's so close you can smell the alcohol on his breath.
"I love you." he says after awhile of just staring at you, examining the features of your face which he already admires.
"I love you too." you say, a smile on your face even though your eyes are closed because of your drunken state.
"Y/N, what's love?" Mike asks. You laugh which causes him to do the same.
"Mike Montgomery, are you asking me what the meaning of love is?" you ask.
"Yeah, I think I am." he smiles. You clear your throat as if you're preparing for the speech of a lifetime. He lets out a throaty laugh as you begin.
"The meaning of love is someone feeling safe with the other person, feeling protected," you start off jokingly but you get into it and start becoming serious. "It's being in the most uncomfortable situations but feeling safe and loved. You could be absolutely anywhere but still feel safe because that one person is with you. I think that's what love is." you finish.
Mike doesn't say anything, instead he moves closer to you and kisses your lips softly, the taste of vodka still prevalent on both of your mouthes. "I love you." he says again.
"I love you too." you say, smiling. This is what love is.
EZRA
Your legs rested on Ezra's lap as he types something on his laptop. You were reading a book that you found at his apartment.
Every now and then you would glance over and catch him staring at you, a smirk would play at your lips and he'd shrug it off and continue what ever he was doing.
After the next time he stared, you plop down the book and sigh. "Is there something on my face?" you ask.
"Oh, uh, no, I'm just working on the rough draft of something and I was wondering..." he trailed off.
You raise your eyebrow at him, unsure of what he's asking.
"I need you to explain what love is." he tells you. You nod and stay in your position and think for a second before figuring out what you're going to say.
"Love is timeless. Love is fun. You could be broken up with someone for months, even years and still love them. You can spout off sarcastic comments and know they will know you're joking. You can tease each other but know that all the love in the world is still there. Love is fighting but immediately feeling guilt. Love is being mad at each other but still protecting each other." you explain.
Ezra grins stupidly, setting his laptop down and positioning himself so he's hovering over you. "You're not working on a rough draft are you?" you whisper.
He shakes his head. "I was grading papers, I just wanted to hear you explain what love is."
"God, you're such a hopeless romantic." you scoff. He smiles and leans down to kiss you.
