JASON
Jason had died a little over a year ago. Drunk driving. And no, he wasn't drunk. He was on his way to see you and a drunk driver slammed into the front of his car. He died instantly.
You can still remember hearing the sirens and seeing the cop cars and ambulances. You remember the feeling when you heard the EMT pronounce him dead on the scene. You remember everything, even when you're sleeping.
You just woke up from a nap suddenly and you don't know why. You thought it was a noise and you sit up slowly, afraid to make any sound. You scan your room. Nothing. But when you take a second glance, you see...
"Jason?" you ask. You have to be dreaming, this has to be a dream. This can't be real can it?
"You're not dreaming Y/N, if that's what you're thinking." he says. He can talk? How is this happening? He looks, perfect. He looks the same as he always has. Tears build up in your eyes as you try to control your shaky breathing. "Calm down." he states casually.
"What's happening?" you ask.
"I needed to see you. I need to tell you that I love you, that I always have and I always will. So many things have changed but my love for you won't." he explains.
"I love you too, so much. I miss you like crazy but why see me now? It's been over a year." you ask. He sighs and walks over to your wall where pictures of your family and friends and him are. Mainly him. He looks over them, smiling a bit.
"I remember this day, you were so happy," he starts while looking at a picture of you and him at the beach. "I just wanted to get you away from your life then."
"Answer my question." you tell him. You can't believe what is happening in front of you but as long as it is happening, you might as well get answers. He stays facing the pictures while answering your question.
"I needed to give you time. I couldn't just show up as soon as it happened, it would be too much for you, trust me." he says. You watch as your ghost of a boyfriend, takes that picture of you two off the wall and examines it while walking over to your bed and sitting down.
He places it on your bedside table and scoots over to you while telling you to lay down. He lays behind you, wrapping his arms around your waist. "I don't know if I'll ever be okay." you whisper, your voice cracking.
"Oh, you will." he tells you. "You'll be just fine. Go back to sleep baby, just go back to sleep." he coos. You don't know when and you don't know how but you fell asleep.
You wake up a few hours later and you instantly remember your surreal dream. It was a dream right? Right beside you feels cold but there's a strange sense of warmth and comfort surrounding the rest of your room. You sit up and groan and when you reach for your phone on your bedside table, your hand touches something else.
You look down and there is the picture of you and Jason that was on your wall. Your mouth parts in shock as you walk over to your wall and in fact see the missing picture and where it goes.
The rest of the day, you kept seeing little signs of Jason. It's like you could feel his energy the whole day. For example, while you were picking out clothes for the day from your closet, a shirt of his that you forgot was there, fell from the top shelf. Then, the only love letter he wrote you about a week before he died, randomly showed up on you dresser.
