JAKE'S POV
I walked out of Eric's house and cried as I pulled out of his drive way... I just wanted to keep him safe...
I broke his heart... Again... The questions raced through my mind.
What if he cuts again?
What if he kills himself?
Will he be at school?
Please let him be okay... Please.
I drove to the only place I could think of... The park.
It was Eric and I's park. We even called it "our park"... We called it that because we went there so much.. I turned my car down the gravel road and parked it close to the highway. I walked to a special tree. It was a beautiful apple tree that I always loved to climb..
It held so many memories of when I would climb up and watch Eric stare up at me... Being afraid of heights he wouldn't climb up with me.. But one day... It changed..
*FLASHBACK*
"Come on Eric! Will you please come up here with me?" I whined as Eric shook his head.
"You know I'm afraid of heights!"
"I'll catch you if you fall! Which you won't because I won't let you!"
Eric sighed and climbed up the side of the tree and sat next to me. I pulled him closer and held him...
"Don't give yourself away", I told myself, "He doesn't like you like that... He doesn't even know you're Gay.. You can't let him know."
"Can we get down now?" Eric finally said after about and hour.
"Of course." I climbed down first as Eric gripped tightly onto the tree.
"Jump, I'll catch you!" I shouted.
"Are you crazy?!"
"Nope."
Eric sighed and jumped down allowing me to catch him in my arms. I didn't want to put him down. But I didn't want to him to think there was something up.. So I set him down and we raced to our swings.
*END OF FLASHBACK*
I climbed up to my favorite branch and looked over the park. I saw someone sitting in Eric's swing.. They had their head bowed down and had one arm outstretched holding ont the sing next to them..
I knew it was Eric... Suddenly he got up and sat infront of my swing.. He reached into his pocket and burried something under my swing..
I watched him slowly stand up and walk away... Head bowed, hands shoved into his pocket.. He walk slowly.. He was upset..
After he was gone I climbed down and walked over to the swing... I dug up what he had hidden only to find it to be his razor.. Even after I broke his heart he is still going to keep his promise to me...
But what made the tears fall and my heart shatter all over again was what had been engraved on the front and back of the razor...
The front read:
"Jake, I love you."
On the other it read:
"I always will."
I gripped the razor and walk back to my car... I drove home and after sticking the razor onto a chain, slipped it around my neck. I layed in bed... And cried.
