Chloe's POV
We watched The Devil Wears Prada and Beca fell asleep. I honestly wasn't surprised. She hates movies since they're boring and predictable. That's what she thinks, I honestly love movies. I decided to sleep on the couch with her.
When I woke up, she was gone. I looked around, and she was nowhere to be found. I had no idea where she was. Why had she left me?
"Beca?!" I called out. The only reply I got was a bark from my dog Daisy. Daisy was a small mutt that I rescued from a shelter down the street a few years ago. She was the cutest little dog I had ever seen.
"Hi Daisy!" I said in a high pitched cartoon voice. I couldn't help it, every time I saw her, I felt the need to talk like that.
"Have you seen Beca?" I asked her. I knew I was crazy, but who knows? She might have known where Beca was.
Then, from behind me, I heard a familiar voice.
"I think she's behind you." Beca said. Wow, I felt stupid.
"Hi Becs." I turned around to face her with donuts in her hands.
"I heard about a donut shop right near here, and I figured I'd get us some donuts. I left a note in the kitchen." She said.
The kitchen, why hadn't I looked for a note? Sometimes I could be a real idiot.
"Sorry, I didn't see your note. I was... you know what? Never mind." I said.
"No, tell me, Chloe." She said, sounding concerned.
"It's stupid."
"Tell me."
"Fine. I was worried you left me." I confessed.
"Chloe, look at me. I would never leave you. I promise."
"Thanks." I whispered.
"Now let's dig into these donuts!" She said.
Beca's POV
Poor Chloe. I felt so bad that I left her to get the donuts. Maybe I should have woken her up. I can't believe she thought I had left her.
When I first met Chloe, I was a different person. That person, undoubtedly, would have left her. Back then, I was scared. Scared of everything. I shut everybody out of my life and never understood why.
I guess I had just lost my ability to trust. After everything that had happened in my life, I found it impossible to trust anybody, but Chloe changed that. When we lived in the Bella house together, I trusted her with everything. I told her my darkest secrets and she never told anybody. She probably doesn't realize how helpful she was to me.
I wanted her to be able to trust me as much as I had trusted her, and leaving her early in the morning to get donuts apparently wasn't the way to go.
