Chapter 22: Leah:
¤ SUMMER! I need your help! ¤
That was what I woke up to the next day after meeting Alex.
When I came back the day before, the house was quiet, I didn't see Drew, nor heard any noise in the house, it was really saddening to know that the big fight between my twin and I was because of someone who didn't deserve it.
I stared at Alex's text message, finally understanding what it said, and typed back a reply while trying not to fall asleep again, ¤ What's wrong? You okay? ¤
As I was getting out of bed, I heard a noise down the stairs, with wide eyes, I moved around slowly, not wanting to make any noise, it just didn't feel right, but my phone decided else wise.
¤ Mom's birthday in a week! What do I get her?! ¤
¤ You scared me, I thought something happened to you ¤
I stumbled out of my room, putting my phone in my pockets and heading to the bathroom.
The house was big; 2 floors, on the first floor, a bathroom, kitchen, and a living room. On the second one, two bedrooms and two bathrooms which are not connected to the bedrooms.
Half asleep and walking like a zombie, I bumped into Drew. I stood for a few seconds with a mouth hanging wide open, trying to figure out what to say. I was hurt, disappointed, but I didn't know what to do.
He didn't say anything, both of us staring at each other, almost daring the other to look away. He finally broke our stare war and moved out of the way, going to his room.
Alright then.
¤ WHAT DO I GET HER ¤
I walked towards the bathroom as I typed back a reply, ¤ A gold necklace, ring or bracelet, maybe? ¤
Minutes later, I was walking towards the kitchen when I got a reply and spotted Drew talking on his phone.
"And now what?" He spoke to the phone.
"Yeah, I'm so not doing that," he said after few minutes, "I'm going to introduce her to my parents and let them decide."
Hell no, Mariana is not meeting Dad nor Mom.
"Have you lost your mind?!" I asked, making him jump.
"I'll call you back later," he told the person on the phone and hung up.
"Introducing her to Mum and Dad?! You have definitely lost it. Where's my twin? Because it's definitely not the guy who's standing in front of me," I spat at him as I walked out of the kitchen and up the stairs.
Just what's wrong with him?!
I slammed my bedroom door as I headed towards my closet in order to put something on because I had work, while checking the text message Alex sent.
¤ That's good actually, thanks, you're a lifesaver ¤
¤ Yeah, thanks for the heart attack ¤
¤ What? ¤
¤ When I read the first message you sent today I thought something bad happened to you ¤
¤ Lmao, no, I'm fine ¤
¤ Yeah, I figured that out ¤
¤ You okay? ¤
¤ Drew's planning to introduce Mariana to Mom and Dad ¤
When I was done from getting ready, I grabbed my car keys, texted Alex an, 'I'll talk to you later' and left the house.
Two hours or so later, I was sitting in a small coffee shop, drinking a cup of tea just relaxing. I had texted Alex minutes before but got no reply to my 'Are you here?'
I was thinking about Drew, when I heard shouting so I turned around in my seat in order to see what was wrong.
I gasped when I saw Leah fighting with a boy who looked her age. What made me gasp though was her black eye and the tears streaming down her face.
Seconds later, she was left sitting alone so I quickly stood up and walked towards her table, "Leah?"
"Summer? Um, hey..."
"What's wrong?" I asked as I sat down next to her.
She kept quiet, so I hugged her as more tears slipped from her eyes. "Want to get out of here?" I asked and she nodded.
We got into my car, then I drove towards my house. The ride was quiet as Leah was trying to calm down. Once we reached home, I directed her to the living room as I went to get an ice pack from the fridge.
"Here," I smiled as I gave her the ice pack.
"Thank you," she calmly said while putting the ice on her eye.
"So what happened? It's okay if you don't want to tell me..."
"I got into a huge fight with my boyfriend... He hit me few hours ago... And called me when so we can meet and try to solve it... And well the result was what you saw..."
Before I could answer, Drew walked into the living room. His curious gaze met Leah's, "Hey," he softly told her, not knowing who she is.
"Leah, this is Drew, my twin. Drew, this is Leah, my friend," I introduced them.
"Hey here," he gave her a soft smile as he sat next to her, "Nice to meet you."
