I was so excited as Jericho and I sat in the OB GYN’s office. We were going to see our baby for the first time. “We’re just making sure all is well with your pregnancy and there is no complications,” the specialist said. Jericho grabbed my hand as the doctor squirted the gel on my stomach and moved the ultrasound device. “Well, you are officially six weeks... Everything looks fine and...” he trailed off looking closer at the screen. Then the doc gave a soft laugh.
“What is it?” Jericho and I both asked in unison.
The gynecologist gazed at us and smiled. “You’re having twins”-he gazes back at the screen- “Yep, there’s definitely two in there.” Jericho’s eyes grew real big and then he gave a smile I never seen before. It was full of such pride and happiness. “Congratulations. Would you like to hear the heartbeats?”

Bitch better have my money...
“Hey, I like that song!” Jericho protested as I turned the radio. We were headed back home until I became hungry. I wanted a hamburger and some fries with pineapples.
“Bitch can’t sing,” I mumbled then turned the radio off. “So...” I began, patting my belly. “Twins don’t run on my side of the family. How about yours?” My eyes narrowed as Jericho gripped the steering wheel hard, knuckles grew white. His jaw jutted shut and he continued to stare ahead, not once gazing in my direction. To my dismay he says nothing. I gazed down at the sonogram of our babies. Then a thought occured to me.
“You’ll be thirty-three in another week and I was thinking-
“No parties. What am I? Five?”
I sigh. “Stop being such an ass-
“Promise me you won’t throw a party,” he demanded.
“Whatever.”
“God, you're being so defiant! They don't make women like they use too!”
“Excuse me! Like I’m just supposed to obey your every command?”
“You’ve been doing a fine job of that lately.” I opened my mouth then closed it. And then it hit me. I have been obeying and going with everything he says and does. Sure, I protest it, but still I follow. Mackayla was right. He is the puppet master and I’m the little puppet.
My temper flared. I was mad at myself more than him for allowing it. “Do you get off on control, Jericho?! Does it make your dick hard?! Is that why you throw your little fits and start torturing and killing because you can’t always get your little way?” He stomped on the breaks so hard I probably would have gone through the windshield if it hadn't been for the seatbelt. Then he pulled over on the side of the road and I knew I pissed him off with my comment.
Jericho hopped out of the car and stalked around it towards a tree. He began punching the tree trunk over and over, hard and fast. He literally went Mike Tyson on a tree. And I realized this bottled up rage has nothing to do with me. After a few moments he stalks back to the car and got in.
“Why did you marry me, Jericho? Why am I here?”
He gripped the steering wheel hard. His knuckles were bloody, bruised, and scrapped. “Because I need you,” he whispered.
“Need me?! You won’t even confide in me! What kind of relationship is that, huh?! You said it yourself relationships don’t thrive on secrets.” There was a long silence between us. “So why do you do it, Jericho? Why do you kill?”
“They made me this way.” He turned to look in my eyes. “In the Special Forces I was commissioned to do things. I became addicted, Mona. I can't stop and I don't want to. I like what I do. It's my drug. It’s like my fucking morning coffee, it gives me that kickstart. I need it.”
I blinked back tears. A pained expression crosses his face. “You want to leave me.” It wasn't a question.
“I-
“Don’t leave me, Mona, please. I'll fucking beg.” Tears rolled down my cheeks. The look in his crystal grey eyes tore me to shreads. His eyes were raw with emotions. Jericho wasn't the type of man to wear his feelings out in the open, but right here and now he was. “How many times must I say it for you to understand? You’re my world. You're everything to me. I need you-
“Jericho, stop,” I sobbed and placed my hand on the side of his face. His eyes misted with tears, but it quickly disappeared. “I told you, you have me for the rest of our lives.” He unbuckled my seatbelt and pulled me into his lap and buried his face into my neck.
“Say it again. I need to hear it.”
“You have me for the rest of our lives.” he sighed with content and hugged me tight to his chest as if I might slip away. And that's when I felt his tears on my neck.
