**Rewritten Version**
I sat in the conference room. Percy had called an early Tuesday meeting. "Palmer, what do you have on the contaminated water story?" Jeanine looked up from her pamphlet.
"According to a source an unknown company has been dumping some sort of waste into the water supply in the low income neighborhoods," she responded. All eyes were on her.
Percy narrowed his eyes on her boobs. "Find out what this unknown company is," Percy barked.
Jeanine looked at me from across the table. I knew that look she was undecided on rather she should spill the beans about something. I wondered what she knows. "Yes, sir," she finally answered. I realized I could like Jeanine.
His eyes skimmed over her to the next victim. "Pierce," Percy shouted. The awkward bald head man jumped at the sound of his name. He pushed his glasses up higher upon his weird nose. "What do you have?!"
That morning I walked into work with pep in my step grateful I didn't have a hangover from all that drinking I did with Jericho. He was actually... a lot of fun when he wasn't being an ass. I was a lightweight and after a few drinks I was gone so whatever we did after that I don't remember. I greeted everyone in the office with a "hey" and a "good morning" making small talk before heading into my office. And that's when my good mood got shot to hell. There was a bouquet of pink flowers sitting invitingly upon my desk with a card attached. I sighed and plucked out the card...
Sorry about last night. But remember this, sweet thing; you wanted it just as much as I did. A drunken man is an honest one.

What the hell was he talking about? I froze for a second trying to remember what we did last night and drew a blank. Nothing came to mind. Jericho never apologized for his behavior so whatever it was it must have been really bad.

It took approximately fifteen minutes to drive to Jericho's Job, New World Inc. The building was located on the edge of downtown Dove City. It was a glass building with many stories. The sign stood out on the front lawn. I parked in the lot. I gazed into the mirror touching up my make-up. I had a thing for false lashes. It made the golden undertone in my dark eyes brighter than usual. I swiped a little blush across the blades of my high cheek bones. Reapplied my lip gloss. Fixed my hair. I even sprayed more of my raspberry perfume on.
I stepped out of my car and pulled down the edges of my suit jacket and my short pencil skirt. My ankle bracelet jingled as I stalked up to the entrance. A few men stopped and stared. I entered reception which held white walls and black marble floors. The words Building A New World was plastered on the wall behind the reception desk. A bright smile flashed across the pretty receptionist's face as I stalked up.
"Good afternoon, Ms., how can I help you?"
"Yes, I'm here to see Jericho James."
"Do you have an appointment?" She began typing away on the computer.
"Um no, he does not know I'm-
"Mona," his deep voice called. I stopped myself from shivering. The way he said my name came off his tongue in such a way as if it was the sweetest thing. I turned around and said a silent prayer.
"Good afternoon, Jericho," I chocked. He walked up and kissed me, grabbing both of my hands. Those diamond eyes gazed at me from head to toe. He made a sound deep in his throat of a male who appreciated a well-dressed and beautiful woman.
"You look absolutely gorgeous, sweet thing." A woman likes to know her efforts aren't going unnoticed.
I dragged long bangs out of my face. "Thank you." He smiled.
"Cute. So what are you doing here? I'm flattered you took time out of your schedule to stalk me." He raised a dark brow.
My face was on fire and my ears felt hot. Crap. "Um..." He looked so good in a suit I nearly forgot what I was about to say. "About last night..." I trailed off as a grim expression crossed his face.
His grip on my hands tightened. "I'll explain everything over lunch."
*************
"Mona, there is much we need to talk about," Jericho said, softly, as we drove above the speed limit in his pearl BMW i8 with black and red leather interior design- in which he threw Lamborghini doors on. I know right. He placed his right hand on my bear thigh and squeezed which sent a shiver through me, jolting me out of my reverie. "You might hate me after today."
I snorted. I could hate him for all the things he's done, but I don't. Maybe I am a fool. Jericho's fool. I watched as he swallowed hard looking nervous. What has him so nervous? What happened that last night? I would soon get my answer as we sat on a rooftop- outdoor restaurant. It was a Japanese restaurant. And when I picked up my menu to order Jericho snatched it from me and ordered: sushi, steak, a side order of fries, and soda. After taking our orders and giving Jericho an inviting hungry look- as did most of the women here, the waitress sauntered off.
"Don't ever do that again," I warned. My tone was ice. "This isn't the old world-
"Don't be rude. Just be grateful." He reached over the table and stroked my cheek. I decided to bite my tongue only because he was being... kind of nice.
"So," I began and leaned back in the seat, crossing my legs. His diamond gaze slid down my neck to my breasts and stayed there a moment before moving over my legs. "What did you want to talk to me about?"
"After we eat, I don't want you running out on me," he retorted. I snorted. How in the world was I going to run out on him with no car? To hell with public transportation. I'll ride a fucking Moped before I take the bus. The waitress brought back our food and gave a very flirtatious "can I get you anything else" to Jericho. He smiled at her and said no. I thought she would melt into a fucking puddle when Jericho smiled at her. I wanted to snap "go scrub some tables, bitch", but instead I grabbed the chopsticks and worked on my sushi. I loved sushi. I dipped it into the sauce and closed my eyes and savored the taste as it touched my tongue.
"Could you have made eating sushi any sexier?" I opened my eyes to find Jericho staring at me with a look beneath his dark brows. I chewed and swallowed, licking my lips. His eyes flared.
"Down, boy," I chuckled. "You're looking as if you're gonna eat me."
"Maybe I will," he mumbled and I barely heard him. We ate in silence. Both of us getting lost in our own thoughts and enjoying the view on the rooftop. When both our plates were emptied, Jericho reached into his suit jacket and pulled out a white envelope. He placed it down and slid it across the table.
"What is this?" He motioned for me to open it. I did. My temper flared hot. I had a Kill Bill moment. All I saw was red. I wanted to tear his pretty face into shreds.
"Oh shit," Jerichoshouted as I lunged over the table for him with fist flying.
