I was flying over the ground as I ran through town, my hood having fallen to reveal midnight strands curling beside my head. I had many strange looks thrown towards me and heads turning my way, but I pushed all of it to the back of my mind as I focused on the one thing that mattered: Ronin. I had to find Ronin, and I was going to paint the walls with his blood. So. Much. Blood.
My path took me towards my old home, and I was practically dodging cars as I made my way there. It came up in the distance, and I was hitting the ground so hard the echo could be heard in the woods around me. I skidded to a stop before my feet churned in the gravel, all the way to the front door. It was unlocked, not unusual considering that someone was home by himself now. I kicked it open and stormed inside, finding Ronin standing against the wall, looking shocked.
"You animal!" I screeched, my voice growing demonic in sound. "Why did you kill her?!"
"Easy, Delia, what the hell-!"
"DON'T EASY DELIA ME!"
I slammed my arm into his throat before ramming my knee into his crotch. His face paled before turning a bright red, tears leaking from the corners of his bulging eyes as he fought for breath.
"First, you kill Blake." I snarled. "Then, you act all fine and dandy, like nothing happened. And after that, you invade my head, and now!" My voice dropped to a whisper. "Now, you kill someone who had no part of this. I'm going to kill you again Ronin, and I'm going to keep killing you until you learn your lesson and stop coming back."
"Try me." He whispered faintly, and my rage hit an all time high.
I dug my nails into his neck as I dragged him through the house, all the way to the back yard. He was scratching at my ice covered arm the entire time, desperately trying to get me to release my grip, but I only tightened it until I could feel his blood begin to ooze out from beneath my fingers. Finally, we were far enough into the forest for all the noises to be made absolutely silent to the rest of the world.
"I'm going to slowly pull your limbs apart," I whispered, feeling myself twitch uncontrollably as a blade formed in my hand. "And then I'm going to remove your organs one by one, while frostbite slowly overtakes you from the inside out."
"You know I'll just be back." He croaked out.
"Of course Ronin, I'm counting on it." I snarled, about to begin my tirade when he spoke again.
"My...my names not Ronin." He said quietly. "I've been fighting for this body for a while, but the first time you killed him finally did the trick. I've got to thank you for that."
"What?" I asked. "What the hell are you talking about?!"
"You see, when someone dies, their soul leaves their body." He grabbed ahold of my wrist, squeezing in an effort to make me let him go. "And that leaves it open for other things to come in."
Suddenly the tables were turned, and I was pinned on my back while he wrapped his hands around my throat. My snarls weren't muted by his efforts, and only intensified as I fought for my life. An idea came to mind, and an icy spike formed on the toe of my shoe before I launched my foot into his back. I was cackling like a witch as he shouted in pain.
"I don't want to kill you," He spat, squeezing harder. "But if you don't knock this shit off I'm going to have to!"
"You bet your ass I'm going to keep fighting." I hissed through clenched teeth. "I refuse to die here."
"You're a fucking menace." Ronin snarled, and a detail suddenly came to light that I hadn't noticed before: his eyes had turned black, like the new moon, the emerald green gone. "Creatures like you are the reason she was taken away from me!"
