Yang walked amongst the people of Vale, watching as everyone smiled and continued on their way. Ahead of her was her destination, and although Rei was still unconscious in the hospital, today was a day she'd need time to herself.
After all, she was also looking for Ruby. Why wouldn't she? Today was the day Summer disappeared from their lives, but then they traded her for Rei.
---
Ruby sat alone atop the cliff's peak, silent tears falling from her eyes. The gravestone she and her family had built for her mother stood at the same place it always did, exactly five feet 8 inches from the cliff. Summer's exact height.
She silently read the words etched into the stone and her heart, "Thus Kindly I Scatter". Her mother's favorite quote, forever etched into stone. Or at least until the stone broke into dust, but as long as Ruby was alive the stone would never disappear.
She suddenly heard a sound coming from behind her, but a deer merely broke through the bush and silently stared at her.
''Summer's Grave.' The deer thought.
-N-
Just wait. You'll understand what I mean by "The deer thought."
-N-
Ruby continued to ignore the mindless deer, continuing her silent weeping.
"Mom, I hope you're doing okay up there."
---
A female very similar to Ruby in appearance walked out of the tent, smiling. Her bright silver eyes basically shined at the mood she was in.
"Summer." A dark haired female said to her left.
"Yes, Raven?" Summer Rose, Ruby Rose's mother, replied.
"I assume your strength has returned?" Raven asked again. Summer nodded.
"Raven, get the horses ready. We need to be in and out of Beacon by nightfall." Summer ordered her half-sister. Raven nodded, leaving to ready the majestic beasts.
"Tai..... Yang..... Ruby. I'm sorry. I'm coming home."
---
Yang found Ruby at the edge of the snowy cliff as she always had on this day, silently waiting for her mother to return.
After 12 years of standing and waiting patiently, you'd think Ruby would give up.
But she never did.
Ruby would always hold some small hope that her mother, whom was pronounced dead, would return to her. She had always explained it to Yang, how she felt like her and her mother were connected somehow, through the hooded cape she'd been given.
Yang would always respond with a fake smile, followed by the patting of Ruby's head.

"Morning Weiss." Blake called as she entered the kitchen. The cat Faunus yawned while stretching her arms upward, her cat ears stretching as well.
"Good morning, Blake." Weiss responded, not looking up from her constant scribbling.
"What are you doing?" Blake asked as she noticed Weiss' unusual movements.
"Nothing. Just making the order for Rei's new weapons and armor." Weiss responded casually. Blake nodded her head then looked at Rei's new armor.
"Are you guys planning for war or something? Because that will make him like a mobile tank." Blake said, not even shocked at the detailed drawings.
"I don't know either, but Rei requested it before he left to Atlas." Weiss replied simply, not even looking up from her constant signature writing.
"Okay.....Just so you know, I'll be gone for most of the day." Blake said, pulling her black coat over her shoulders and waving to Weiss.
"Where are you going?" Weiss asked, surprised. Blake never went out alone.
"To go see some old friends." Blake replied, leaving without another word.
"Does she mean..... the White Fang?" Weiss thought so herself before shrugging the idea off and continuing her writing.
---
Rei suddenly awoke, coughing while he struggled to stand. Where was he? Surrounding him were twisting shadows, dark mountains, and warped figures. He shook his head, hoping that he was merely dreaming and that the action would awaken him.
It didn't.
He spotted a trail near him, deciding that it'd be the best course of option, he followed it.
'Please tell me I'm not walking into a trap.'
---
Yang twisted her fist behind her, loading the next blast as she punched forward, killing the beowulf in front of her. she smiled, then wiped the sweat from her forehead.
"Wooh, one more down for the count!" Yang said happily, pointing her thumb downwards and winking as if someone was watching her. She quit the witty look then moved on, leaving the trail of dead beowolves behind her.
Someone rushed her from her right, to which she easily dodged the attack.
"Who are you?" Yang asked harshly.
"Oh, you know," the male replied, wiping his grey hair out of his eyes. "Just someone you should be very, very scared of beautiful."
A name popped in her head as she remembered that his grey color scheme matched that of a mercenary she'd heard of before.
"Mercury Black." Yang whispered under her breath.
---
Blake walked along the streets, crowds of people around her. She noticed something unfamiliar about the crowd, but denied anything was wrong. Quickly diverting into an alley that seemed unoccupied at that time. She stopped once she was far enough in, then turned around.
"Alright, who are you and why have you been following me?" Blake demanded as a hooded figure stepped out from behind a dumpster.
"So you noticed. You truly are Blake Belladonna, the legendary second-in-command of the White Fang Mercenary Faunus Forces." the figure said, removing her hood and smiling. Blake's eyes widened at the sight of her opponent.
"Emerald Sustrai, Rank 67 Huntsman for hire." Blake said, shocked.
---
"Why are you here?" Yang asked harshly. Mercury walked to her left, smiling nonchalantly.
"Isn't it obvious, sweetheart? Me and Emerald are here to finish Cinder's job." Mercury said, laughing.
"Cinder's job? Emerald? What?" Yang asked, confused.
"We're here to kill team RWBY."
