Vol.2 / Chapter 5 : "Nemesis"

Rei's eyes were now entirely red, his aura extending greatly and creating a feeling of chaos. The audience was silent as his transformation took place.

"Foolish human. I merely taught you my skills in order to take over your body."

Ozpin sat with a familiar blonde male, a friend he'd known forever. They watched as Rei was consumed by the demon, completely losing control.

"You sealed a Tier 6 Red Eyed Dragon Demon within him!?" Ozpin said once he turned around and locked eyes with Tai Yang Xiao Long.

"I... I never sealed a Tier 6 Red Eyed Dragon Demon. I sealed a Red Eyed Dragon. If he has a Red Eyed Black Dragon Demon soul in him, then..." Tai trailed. Ozpin's eyes widened, a feat of which Ozpin did not do often.

"Then he must have had a Black Demon King soul within him before you sealed the Dragon." Ozpin finished his words.

"And if the Black Demon King and Red Eyed Dragon souls are ever fused...."

"Then the legend has come true. Rei Schnee will be the one to end Humanity's suffering, by ending Humanity itself."

It was like Rei was being sealed inside his own body, watching as his so-called "Master" took his free will. He was trapped in a void of purple, unable to move. His strength was gone, his body numb. His eyes began slowly closing, his vision fading. The demon's takeover was destroying him, and all he could do was wait. Wait for the demon to take over, to kill everyone and end his own miserable existence. The thought of Ruby, Weiss, and Yang dying suddenly hit him, surprising him. He'd lost control over his own thoughts, so this small act surprised him. His eyes widened suddenly, his strength returning. He watched as his body suddenly knelt forward, holding his hands to his ears as if blocking a sound out. He watched as his body screamed in pain.

"What!? How is this possible!? A human somehow resists my control!?" The demon within Rei's soul screeched.

"Rei." A soft and familiar voice spoke to him. Rei knew that voice well. He'd grown up listening to that voice, obeying it's every command.

He even watched the owner of the voice die right before him.

"Mom." Rei replied, a tear sliding down his cheek. His mother, Crystal Schnee, placed a hand on his cheek. His mother had a slight glow to her, a glow that softened his pain and helped his strength return faster.

"I see you've gotten yourself quite in a pickle." His mother joked lightly.

"But don't get excited. This me that you see is only a fragment of my existence. I have placed it within you in order to prevent any true harm to you. This portion of my existence was placed in your soul when you were nothing but a baby." Rei's mother smiled before the demon made itself a body, revealing it's true form.

Behind Crystal, a tall black dragon with red eyes towered over the two. The dragon had two large wings with rather large spikes at the end, followed by black armor-played scales. It's claws were nearly the size of it's teeth, gigantic and silver.

"So this is how you have resisted my control. Running back to your mother, I suppose?" The demon taunted.

"What the hell are you? I thought Tai sealed a Red Eyed Dragon soul within me?" Rei asked the demon.

"Allow me to explain." His mother broke in.

"When I first found you, you were only a month old. Alone, crying, and starving. I wondered who would leave such a beautiful baby, but then I knew. Deep inside you, a demon's curse had found it's way into your soul. It rooted itself, making it impossible to expel the demon without killing you. If this demon now appears as a dragon, and if you say my old friend Tai has sealed a dragon soul within you, then I can only guess that the Dragon and Demon souls fought for control over your body.

Given that we see a Dragon soul in front of us, I'd have to say the Dragon soul won."

"She is correct. The demon was not simple, however. It was the Black Demon King, the strongest demon to ever be encountered. I not only defeated this demon, but I assimilated him as well. His power now belongs to me."

"So why are you trying to take over my body?" Rei asked the black dragon.

"Because it is nearly time."

"Time for what?"

"The awakening of the ultimate dragon, named Nemesis. Nemesis is a female dragon, born of the Black Demon King and the Dragon Queen, two of the most powerful spirits in all of existence. Once this dragon awakens, all of Remnant will be destroyed. My brothers and sisters, we all fought wth Nemesis thousands of years ago. Although we defeated her, her power was far too great. We could only put her to sleep. My brothers, the Hurricane Eclipse Eagle named Divios and the Golden Hell Flame Tiger named Pernicous, fought with me. My sisters, the Black Nether Panther named Freya, and the Blue Eyed Dragon named Kisara also fought with us. Together, we defeated Nemesis and reduced our powers into that of souls, should Nemesis ever waken once more. Now, her slumber is being disturbed. Despicable humans are trying to revive her, with the hopes of controlling her godly powers."

"But there's something I'm not getting here. If the Black Demon King had a child with a dragon, and you just absorbed the Black Demon King, then won't that make you a Dragon-Demon hybrid?" Rei asked questioningly.

"I merely absorbed him. Not fused with him."

"So how do I stop this, Nemesis' revival?"

"You must find the other four spirits and go to her burial place. Once you have found the four, I will resurge once again. This time, and this time only, I will allow you to keep your body."

"I already know who the four others are." Rei announced.

"You do!?" The dragon exclaimed.

"The four members of team RWBY."

"I thought they might have been the holders. The blonde must have Pernicous, the golden lion judging from her power. The little red girl, judging from her speed has absorbed Divios the Eagle. The white-haired female must have inherited Kisara, the blue dragon. That is fitting, as Kisara is my sister and if I recall correctly, Weiss is your sister as well. The black haired Faunus is undoubtedly the holder of Freya, the Nether Panther."
