6 months had passed since Rei left, and Yang had changed. She was still the fun and loud girl she was in public, but when she was behind closed doors she transformed. She refused to talk to anyone, she didn't make attempts at her puns or anything. Behind closed doors, she just.... Died.
Until one day, exactly six months after he left.
Yang was lying on her bottom bunk, staring at the bunk above her head. Someone knocked on the door, prompting Yang to get off her bunk. Her team members, Ruby, Weiss, and the newly appointed Blake, all had access cards. They wouldn't knock, they'd just enter. So who was it?
Yang opened the door to find a male. She stood shocked in the doorway, as the male smiled.
"Long time no see, Yang." The male said, beaming. Yang became still, almost not breathing.
"Rei..." She breathed. The man opened his eyes, slightly surprised.
"Sorry, I'm not Rei. Although I've heard a lot about him. My name is Lance. Lance Walein."
"Then why do you look exactly like Rei?" Yang questioned. The male before her did indeed look exactly like Rei, only his eyes and hair were a different color. His hair was now a jet-black, the complete opposite of his old white hair. His eyes had lost their crystal brilliance, but now they were replaced by bright, nearly-glowing red pupils and irises.
"Because I'm his twin brother."
----
"Glynda? Where are you going?" Ozpin asked as he watched Glynda leave his office without a word.
"Has Rei returned?" Ozpin asked himself, suddenly standing from his chair.
----
Lance and Yang walked silently through the streets, neither refusing to begin talking.
"Rei, how long are you going to lie to me?" Yang asked. Lance's eyes widened in surprise.
"How'd you know?" Lance asked.
"Because. You look the same, you talk the same. Hell Rei, you even smile the same!" Yang shouted.
"Also, your story was very fishy. Rei was raised with Weiss his entire life. How would anyone know if they were his twin brother?" Rei smiled, noticing that Yang had memorized every little detail about his life.
"Now take that wig off? I miss the old you." Yang asked, almost shyly.
"I can't." Rei responded. His tone of voice sounded weird to her, almost saying that he didn't want to.
"If you don't want to, it's okay." Yang reassured.
"No Yang. You're being too blunt. I literally can't take the hair off." Rei said, looking to his left. That small action, looking to his left, told Yang a lot.
There was something he was hiding. Something he didn't want her to know. And now that she fought about it, wasn't he standing a bit too far from her? Why were both of his arms crossed over his chest? Didn't he hate crossing his arms? Why was he acting so.... So cautious. So, guarded? Like he was afraid of himself, of his instincts?
"Rei... What's wrong?" Yang asked softly.
"Don't. Come. Closer." Yang suddenly noticed a dark alley behind Rei, one of which Rei might try to escape. She moved closer, despite his warning. Rei suddenly drew his sword, and in one quick moment had the tip almost against her throat. The swift action forced her to stop, ceasing her movement.
"I might hurt you if you come closer." Rei said, cautiously.
"Well, you do have a sword to my neck." Yang joked. Even she could feel it, the slight rejuvenation of her old self.
"I mean without my sword." Rei said in a mysterious manner.
"Can you put down the sword please?" Yang said before Rei quickly jumped into the dark alley, his entire body disappearing except for his eyes.
"Don't. Come. Closer." He whispered in a dangerous tone.
"Why?" Yang asked bluntly, obviously still puzzled.
"I'll kill you. Just like I did Yuki."
