After all that just transpired I'm seriously worried about being late when I was already late to begin with??

I stopped because I was running low on oxygen forcing Alex to do the same since he held my hand in his. Steadying my breath after the inhaling in a lung full of air.

"Why are we going this way?? My house is that way?? And do you mind explaining what the fuck just happened??!!"

He tilted his head to the side as if considering whether to say something. We were staring into each other's eye which was illuminated by the street light, when he realized I wouldn't budge he sighed and shook his head.

"There's another way to your house, we can't go back there"

"You didn't answer all my questions. What-the-hell-just-happened?"

"We got into a fight" he said matter-of-factly.

"I know that Captain obvious, how the hell did you get wrapped up with that guy" we started walking, with him leading the way

"What can I say? I was a good boy with bad friends"

"You? Good boy? Yeah right when hell freezes over" I tsk-ed and he chuckled.

"You're still new, you dunno anything about me"

"I know the scars you've given me this past month I've still got one fresh from yesterday!"

"Haven't you been told not to judge a book by its cover?"

"So your cover is giving people scars, bullying timid girls, and get into fights?"

"Timid?" he scoffed eyeing me up and down.

"You owe me" I stated

"No I don't"

"Yes you do, I could've bolted when I had the chance"

"But you were too busy being nervous and trying to hide"

"I was not!"

He chuckled "I saw you scoot closer to me when Ryan and i was talking and I thought 'is she trying to enter or meld with me?' "

"I was not trying to meld with you" I said smacking him

"So you've said but I know what I saw" he said taking a turn sharply I almost tripped but his hands shot out to catch me.

I shivered at the touch which sent massive electric bolts running all over my insides. Where was that hand when I was being tripped and felled.

Ewww, we're being delusional right now. It was just reflex, calm down girl.

"Thanks" I murmured righting myself.

"So do you make a habit of breaking the new new student every time?" I asked.

"Only the ones that catch my eye" he said looking at me intently then started walking again.

"Good to know"

Silence.

"So how long have you and Blondie from cheer squad been together?"

"Are you seriously asking about my relationship?"

"Well excuse me for trying to make a conversation" I hissed and he chuckled making me stare at him disbelieving.

"Since summer break"

We walked past the park and a group of movie goers. Soon my house came into view and I quickened my pace, he did the same. Once we got to the door I raised my hand to turn the knob when it was yanked open to reveal a flushed Kaylee grinning from ear to ear at Alex.
