Kiera was doing homework when she received a text from Darien. "I'm outside" it said. Kiera quickly stopped what she was doing, grabbed her shoes, and left outside. "What is it?" Kiera put her hands in her pockets. "It's about Mia," he said. "You do know she's mad at you right now." Kiera crossed her arms. "She is!" He exclaimed. Kiera nodded and he sighed. "Well I mean it's a baby we're talking about and I'm only 16 so I guess I just don't know what to say. For one thing I don't want to be a jackass and leave her, but I also don't know how to handle the situation." He brushed his hair back as if he had been stressed out.
"Well did you at least tell your parents?" Kiera sighed. "Yeah, about that," he looked troubled. "My mom kicked me out." He said shamefully. "And I don't know I've been having a hard time with my grades to the point where I don't even think I'm going to graduate. When I told my mom she screamed at me, saying things like I'll never be successful and just-" Kiera cut him off. "I believe you, but I also believe it's best you talk to Mia first. She's been having a hard time too you know." Kiera smiled and went back inside.
The next day, Mia's parents got a call from the school saying that if she didn't return to school she'll be expelled. So that Monday Mia forced herself to put up with the morning sickness and stress, and went to school. She looked happy, but deep down Kiera knew she was sad and scared. Mia was able to handle the day up until she and Kiera started walking home.
She saw Darien talking to another girl. He wasn't flirting or doing anything wrong, but Mia snapped and shouted, "Hey! Yeah you! Where have you been all this time huh?! You think you are just going to cheat on me and act like nothing happened between us huh?! Go ahead take her home and get her pregnant too and if you're not satisfied then go ahead get as many girlfriends as you want!" She pushed him. "Darien what is she talking about? I don't even like you that way, I have a boyfriend!" The girl left. Darien stood there in shock of what he just heard.
Mia stomped towards him when Kiera grabbed her shoulder and said, "Take a deep breathe ok. This is a lot for him too you know." Mia took a deep breathe and waited for him to speak. "I told my parents and they kicked me out. Plus remember when I told you my chances of graduating were low, well now their lower." He sighed. "What have you been doing! Don't you understand that if you don't graduate then you won't be able to support our family! Don't you care?"
"How am I going to support? How are we going to support?! We are teens Mia! How are we going to be able to continue to go to school and take care of a baby at the same time!" He yelled. "If my aunt can do it, then I can do it." She was tearing up. "Listen to this," she said. The doctor had let us record the baby's heartbeat because Mia wanted to continue to hear it over and over. Darien was speechless and calmed down as Mia showed him some pictures she took while at the appointment of the baby. When she was done you could tell his eyes were a little watery.
"So what are you going to do?" Mia said tapping her foot. "I don't know. But for one thing I don't want to leave you like your stupid uncle did." He looked up to the sky as if he was having deep thoughts. "Come back to me when you have a plan." Then she turned away and Kiera followed.
He smiled and walked off as well.
*Wow, this really is starting to turn into a teen tv drama 😳. Like I said I've been busy so publishing chapters will take a lot longer like seriously I've been writing this chapter for like a week. Anyways plz vote, follow, comment, or make any suggestions that I can add to the story :)
