*Time skip: one month
High school has had its ups and downs so far. Homecoming is coming up, so that gave Kiera something to look forward to. She kept telling herself that Ivan would probably end up going with some cute girl, and that she'll probably end up just staying at home. But even so, she ignored the thought and considered saving money anyway. She could always use the money for a new car if homecoming didn't work out anyway.
It was after school, so she began studying for her math test. Then she decided to take a quick break and accidentally fell asleep.
She was having a dream. A dream were she kissed Ivan again. She woke up immediately with a flustered face and said, "No, that was only one time. I need to get over him. I mean I don't stand a chance against everyone else."
The next day, she got to school, went to her locker, and found this letter from Adam.
Dear Kiera,
I know this letter is kind of stupid, but this is honestly how I feel about you. I like you ok. Not like a friend, but more like in a boyfriend girlfriend type of way. Well anyways now that I've finally confessed, will you go to homecoming with me?

Kiera didn't know how to respond.Something deep down was somehow restraining her from saying yes.
Science class came eventually,and Adam immediately sat down next to Kiera. "So, did you read it?" He asked with a giant smile on his face. "I don't know, I'll have to think about it. I'm sorry Adam." She said. "It's alright." He said with a weird look on his face. He got up without permission and left. "Adam!" Mrs.Carroll exclaimed. She was able to get one of the boys to get him.
After that Adam just disappeared for the rest of the day. He wouldn't answer any of Kiera's calls or texts. She was kind of worried.
"Hey," Drew said as soon as he saw Kiera walking by. "Oh, hey Drew." Kiera said. "What's wrong?" Drew asked. "Nothing really, it's just that I'm kind of worried about Adam." Kiera explained. "Oh yeah! I heard he marched to the bathroom and knocked down one of the stall doors." Drew said. "What!?" Kiera exclaimed. "No need to worry. Adam offered to fix the stall door instead of earning detention. He's fine." Drew said. "Oh ok then." Kiera said. "Hey has Ivan told you anything about homecoming?" Drew laughed. "Um, no. Why?" Kiera gave an innocent smile. "Hey Drew!" Ivan said with a serious face as if he had heard their conversation. " Alright King Ivan, I'll stop messing with your queen!" Drew said teasing. Kiera blushed a little and laughed. "Drew just shut up. We are just friends." Ivan said trying not to make it sound like he was lying.
Now instead of Adam being I her mind, Ivan was on her mind.
