Harley's POV

Harley flashed a crooked grin at the room, her eyes locking with Batman's, who stood right in front of her. The silence hung heavy in the air as she let her words linger. "Well? No welcoming gifts?" She put her left hand on her hip, her pout deepening as disappointment spread across her face.

"Last time I help you out again," she groaned, her gaze flicking to Mr. J, who hung upside down by a rope. Harley's frustration grew as she eyed the scene before her and then turned back to Batman. "Will you let my puddin' go?" she asked, her voice soft but laced with defiance. She pushed out her bottom lip, giving Batman the most exaggerated pout she could muster.

Her red lips, striking against the stark whiteness of her painted face, made the gesture almost hypnotic. When Batman didn't budge, she furrowed her brows and crossed her arms, the pout shifting into a petulant scowl. "Fine," she muttered, before jumping up to grab onto the rope holding Mr. J.

A batarang flew past her face, narrowly missing her, but slicing her cheek. Harley gasped, a pout curling further on her lips. "I can't believe you'd hit me!" she whined, clutching at her cheek with mock offense.

Without missing a beat, she swung down, kicking Batman hard in the stomach. The force of her heel sent him crashing to the floor. She slid gracefully across the room, narrowly dodging another batarang as it crashed into the wall behind her and fell to the floor.

"Thanks, B-man!" she called with a wicked grin, grabbing the fallen batarang before rushing to Mr. J's rope. With one swift motion, she used the sharp blade to slice through the rope. The Joker hit the ground with a thud, but it didn't faze him—he cackled as he sprang to his feet, grabbing her arm roughly as he pulled her toward the door.

They ran out of the room, just as Batman threw another batarang, but it clattered harmlessly to the floor as the door slammed shut behind them.

Laughing all the way, they made their way to the car. Harley hopped into the passenger seat, her grin just as wide and mischievous as his. The Joker cranked the engine, the car rumbling to life as he rolled down the windows.

Harley stuck her head out of the window, her long blonde pigtails flying behind her in the cold night breeze. She let out a joyful laugh, feeling the rush of freedom and chaos in her bones.
