"Harley," Mr. J's voice was low, almost a growl. He stood behind her, his presence dark and looming as she sat at her vanity, carefully brushing her hair. She felt his touch before she saw it—a hand, lightly resting on her shoulder, sending a shiver down her spine.

"Yes, puddin'?" she asked, her voice light and warm as she admired his reflection in the mirror. He was fiddling with his pocket watch, checking the time, then absently glancing around the room.

"I've been thinking," he said, his voice slow, measured. His thumb ran over the smooth surface of the watch, his eyes fixed on it. Then, with an eerie calm, he continued, "How about we get married?"

The words hit her like a surge of electricity. Her heart skipped, her face instantly lighting up with joy. A wide smile stretched across her face as she turned toward him. "Really?" she gasped, her voice filled with disbelief and excitement.

He nodded, his expression unreadable. Without a second thought, Harley jumped into his arms, squealing with joy. Her happiness overwhelmed her, and for a moment, the world seemed perfect.

-

The vision of a happy future began to splinter, shattering like glass. Harley's rage exploded as she swung her bat, crashing it into Dick Grayson's skull. Blood splattered onto her, staining her clothes, but it only fueled the fire in her eyes. Tears streamed down her face, mingling with the blood as her bat connected with a sickening crack. The image of Dick's skull fracturing into fragments replayed in her mind over and over—her anger consuming her as she let out a manic laugh, the blood soaking her as she went further into the chaos.

-

"Do you really mean it?" Harley's voice was full of hope, her grin wide as she placed a soft kiss on his cheek. She looked at him with longing, watching his every move.

He paused, taking a deep breath, the weight of the moment hanging in the air. His gaze shifted downward, his hand still tightly gripping his pocket watch as he began to pace around her, circling like a predator.

"Oh sure. Sure, doll," he replied in a nonchalant tone, his eyes flicking between her and the watch, his attention clearly divided. He made a gesture, waving his hand, but Harley didn't notice. Her focus was entirely on him—nothing else mattered. The gleam in his eyes, the faint smirk on his lips—she was so sure he meant it.

-

Harley's scream echoed in the empty space, raw and full of frustration. She kicked the lifeless body to the side, her foot connecting with the cold, still form. The bloodied wedding dress clung to her, now stained with dirt and gore, the veil once pure and white now darkened with grime.

She had envisioned something different—something beautiful. A wedding. A happy future. The white dress, the flowers, the soft whispers of vows exchanged. She had wanted it all. But now, it was all ruined. Her dream was shattered, just like everything else.

She had wanted him. She had wanted to be his—his in every way. But he had lied to her. He had used her, manipulated her, and she had fallen for it. Now, the truth settled like a weight in her chest. He didn't want her—not the way she thought. Not the way she needed.

The once-bright smile faded as she stared at the chaos around her, the lies, the broken promises. The blood on her hands—her wedding, her dream—torn apart. And the only thing she could hold onto now was the rage, the burning ache in her heart.

He had tricked her. He played her. He never wanted her the way she wanted him.
