Chapter 28

(HARLEY's POV)

At home, I start setting up the tree. Lights!! "Blue, red, and green! Oh, and purple!" I say, wrapping the lights around the tree.

Looking in a plastic bag, I grab ornaments.

"Ooooo!!! These are so cute!" I say putting the ornaments onto the tree. As I'm putting the ornaments on, I hear a the door being unlocked. I quickly hide behind the tree, "I'm home Honey!" I hear my Puddin say.

Peeking my head out, I quickly see him tossing a bag. "What was that?" I ask.

"Nothing!" He quickly responds with a smile, "haha okay. Do you like the tree Puddin?" I ask.

"No." he says.

"...no?"

"Yes, no. I don't like it."

"Why not? It's pretty." I say, pointing at the ornaments and lights.

He gets closer to my face.

"I don't like it." He says, causing me to gulp.

"I love it." He smiles, hugging me tightly.

"I knew you would Puddin." I say, hugging my Puddin tightly.

"Where did all these gifts come from... 1, 2, 3, 4... and 5." He counts the presents underneath the tree.

"They all came from me, going to you." I smile.

"You didn't have to get me anything... Just being with you is a gift."

"I know I didn't have to get you anything... but I wanted too. Hopefully you're not mad...." I say, with puppy eyes.

(JOKER's POV)

She uses her puppy eyes on me, dammit. That's not the thing. It's just that... she got me five fucking presents. And I only got her one.

"Well, since my little Honey charmed me so well. I can't help but to say yes." I say, causing her to smirk.

"Thanks Puddin." She says, putting the rest of the ornaments on the tree.

"I'll be right back, I forgot to get some groceries." I say, grabbing the present I got her and the car keys.

"Dammit." I murmur, closing the front door. Stepping into my car, I sit in the car for a minute ; holding her gift.

"What else should I get you Honey....?" I say scanning around me, as if the air were to give me an answer.

"Makeup? Clothes? I've already gotten you a sweater... how about, food? No. I've got it!!!" I say to myself.

Heading to a secret base, where I do all my 'evil' things at.

"Yes, get me two of them." I say into the phone.

"Yes sir." He replies back. Hanging up, I get a call from my pumkin-pie.

Answering it she quickly speaks, "where are you...?" She has worry in her voice.

"Working." I say bluntly.

"Oh, well... I made dinner. I'm waiting for you right now." She says with a hint of sadness in her voice.

"You don't have to wait for me... you can just eat." I say.

"I'll just wait-" I quickly cut her off.

"No, it's fine. I'll be on the way home right now anyways." I say, trying to cheer her up.

"Okay... Puddin. I miss you." She says.

"I miss you more." I reply, writing something down on a card.

"I miss you most." She laughs a bit.

"I love you." I say, causing silence in the call. "Honey?" I ask, but there's no answer. Suddenly I hear her sniffling.

"What's wrong?" I quickly ask.

"I love you times infinity!" She says sniffling.

I laugh, "I'll see you when I get home Honey. Don't cry now."

"I won't!" She says, causing me to smile.

"Bye..." I say.

"Bye Puddin." She hangs up.

I don't want you to cry.. I hate hearing you cry, I hate seeing you cry. Grabbing my car key, I exit my secret building.
