Chapter Song: Down - Jason Walker

Chapter 49:
(Kerri's POV)
We finished makeup and hair in an hour and it was 8:37 when we headed out the door.
"Just exactly how are we getting to the party?" I question as we walk down the stairs.
If I fall because of these heels I'm falling directly on her. She made me wear the highest stilettos in her basket.
"Grey."
Lovely.
"Do I really have to go?" I whine as we step into the brightly lit corridor.
She nods and smiles at me as we walk through the doorway and out onto the sidewalk.
As soon as I walk out into the parking lot I know exactly which car is his because he is still driving the exact same car from high school.
Too many memories. Too many bad memories.
"I think I'm getting sick," I murmur to Diana as we walk towards Grey's car.
She doesn't even look at me, just keeps walking," doubt it. Hop in."
Damn it.
I do as told and hop into the back seat of the car as Diana takes the front seat.
I nearly puke on my red dress when Grey leans over and basically sucks all the red lipstick from Diana's face.He turns to look at me, smirks, and goes on along with putting the car in reverse.
He's such a dick. Can he not wait until we get to the party? He's just doing it to irritate me, there's no other reason why he'd grip Diana's shoulder that much or lean into her so far.
I hope this night gets better.
We get to the party quickly. The frat house, I suppose, is huge. It's pumping with music and there are cars parked out front.
I don't think I should have done this. This is a straight up mistake.
Grey parks the car and we all get out.
"Have fun. See you later," Diana states and walks off with Grey by her side.
I don't know anyone here! What the hell? You can't bring someone to a party then leave them to hang.
I scoff and walk away.
The closer I get to the noisy house the more my stomach churns. I've never gotten drunk before. I've never even been to a party.
Damn it, I should've refused the dress and everything. Now I have ringlets in my hair, make up and false eyelashes and a dress that's too tight and heels that will be sure to leave marks.
"Hey, I absolutely adore you dress!" a girl states to me as she walks past and up the sidewalk to the entrance. She pulls down her black leather dress before walking up the steps and into the house.
I think I'm just gonna walk home it's not that far.
I start to walk down the sidewalk but end up being called for by a large figure standing at the entrance to the house.
"Kerri Rivers?" the deep voice yells.
I whip around and look at my rescuer," yeah?"
"Dude, you are hot," he states lowly but I can still hear him.
"What're you doing out here? Get inside, that's where the fun is," he adds and motions for me to come closer.
I walk up the sidewalk and onto the porch before noticing how attractive he is," who are you?"
He shrugs his shoulder," I don't know."
His sarcastic reply is quite annoying but I laugh anyways, I can't be mad at the person who just saved me.
"Grey sent me to get you. He said that you were alone and that you wouldn't walk in here all by your lonesome, you'd probably walk back home," he laughed and opened the door for me.
How does he know me so well? Why would he do that?
"I'm Michael, Grey's brother," he states as we walk into the loud house.
My jaw drops to the floor," how can you be his brother?" He laughs at my shock and shrugs as we walk towards what I'm guessing to be the kitchen.
"What would you like?" he asks after opening the fridge.
I lean against the cold countertop and shake my head," I don't drink."
He looks up at me, still holding the door," you don't do you?"
"Nope."
He doesn't say anything, just walks over to the red cups and pours water in," yes, you do."
He hands me the cup and winks. I take it from him and thank him.
"So are you two like half brothers or something?" I ask.
He shakes his head no," I know it's hard to believe but, we are actual brothers."
I shake my head in disbelief and take a drink of the cold water," you're just so nice. Its kinda unbelievable."
He nods and motions for me to follow him out the door," I know that you've probably never been to a party but, now you have and I intend on making it fun, master's orders."
Why would he want me to have fun? I thought he didn't care about me? I can't complain though, Michael is super nice and I'm not gonna turn down a friend at the moment.
He takes my arm and pulls me towards the dancing crowd. Everybody was rubbing up against each other and moving way too much. I clung tight to Michaels side as we danced to the beat of the blaring music.
"Kerri, come on," someone shouts from behind me. That person ending up being Diana.
"Let's go play a game upstairs. You can meet everyone!" she yells and tugs on my arm. I look to Michael but he gives me a look that says not to go. Maybe he's alone too.
"No thanks," I reply loudly over the music and go back to dancing with Michael.
She scoffs," the only reason you have someone to dance with is because of Grey, and Grey told him to try the water in a cup trick because he does it himself. So either come with me or find your own way home."
I am taken aback at her change of voice. Who knew that she could be so cold hearted?
I look one more time at Michael but before he could say anything Diana was dragging me out of the crowd.
Why do I regret anything that happens to connect with Grey?
She pulls me up the stairs with force but I break away harshly, hurting myself, but most definitely making a statement. "You don't have to drag me like a puppy, I can move on my own!"
She scoffs and continues to walk and I unfortunately follow.
Michael? The one whom Grey spilled his guts to about Kerri and their problems? What kind of game is Grey playing? What's is up with Diana now? So I hope you guys like it, if you did give a vote or comment what you enjoyed. I kinda really loved writing this chapter. Oddly enough I like Michael and Kerri together. Shall we stay friends? Comment and vote for shout out in next chapter. More than likely it'll be BubaSpirt because she votes on every chapter and comments on every chapter. Love you! -C
