Chapter Song: Kiss Me - Ed Sheeran

---------------------------------

Chapter 54:

(Kerri's POV)

The knock on the door exactly at eight o'clock startles me, even though I was sitting on my bed watching the doorknob for ten minutes before.

I jump up and go to open the door. My curls bounce behind me and I grab the doorknob.

Justin's eyes go wide when I open the door.

He walks up to me and hugs me tightly. His smile on my forehead when he kisses it makes my stomach flutter. He pulls back and shuts the door behind him, walking into my room.

"You look absolutely beautiful."

He pulls me into his arms and hugs me once again but with more intensity.

When we pull away I am finally able to take in his stunning appearance without being stared down, only halfway anyways.

"You look amazing yourself," I state and take his hand and lace it with mine.

He must've taken notice to the time when I picked up his hand because he gasped.

"We need to go. It's an 45 minute drive and our reservations are at 9," he states and unclasps our hands.

He grabs my coat off of my bed and puts its over my shoulders, leaving me to grab my purse and phone.

After one last look in the mirror we walk out of the room and lock it before walking down to his car.

"Where are we going?" I ask after we finish walking the stairs.

He shrugs," I guess you'll just have to find out…"

We walk towards the front doors but the suspicion builds inside me. Ever since I was a little kid I had hated surprises. After I had found out that Santa wasn't real I got super anxious and impatient at the thought of not knowing what was in mom's closet for me.

Around age 13 mom started giving me hints and I would figure them out before I opened them but before then I had to wait. I would hound my mom for hints and beg her to let me shake them.
All I got was answers of no.

My impatient personality pops out when the passenger side door is opened for me. "Please tell me where we are going!"

He shakes his head and smiles. Keeping his mouth shut is probably not a good idea, the longer he waits, the longer I whine and squeeze it from him.
I get in with a huff and he shuts the door behind me. When he sits down in his seat the car keys are dangling in my hands.

"Kerri!" he shouts," give them to me!"

"You're no fun!" I reply and throw them at him with a groan. I cross my arms like a child and poke my lip out in a pouty face.

"Okay, Okay. Chill out. We're here." Justin pulls up outside a fancy restaurant with complete glass windows that wrap beautifully around the building. The windows almost seemed to be overlapping each other due to the pattern and design.

"What's wrong with your face?" he asks sarcastically.

I don't answer him, I just look at the art work like building with an astonished look.

"You look like you're blown away."

I nod and look at him," I am."

We get out of the car and walk up the steps to the beautiful building.

The cold wind makes goosebumps rise on my skin, just underneath the jacket around my shoulders.

Justin opens the door for me and I step into the warm modernized dining area. He takes my hand and walks beside me up to the front desk.

"Manning." His bright smile is returned by the modernly dressed woman that shows us to our tables.

We weave in and out of tables and cushioned booths for a minute before finding our table.

"I will be right with you," the same lady that showed us to our table stated and ran off somewhere, quite frankly, I didn't really care where to.

We ordered moments later and Justin stared at me with a smile," I wish you knew just how gorgeous you really are."

I look off into the distance behind him and look at the traffic that ran wildly.

"What's wrong?" Justin asks, grasping my attention. His caring smile is spread across his face and his brows are furrowed in confusion.

I sigh and look at him," nothing I'm just tired."

"Smile for me? Please?" he asked, giving me his hand across the table.

I nod and smile. I take his warm hand into mine and look into his eyes.

"Enough of that! I want to hear about you, I know about your relationships and whatnot. I want to know about your family!"

I roll my eyes at the thought of my family, but immediately regretted it due to the fact that I truly did miss them.

"Do you not like your family?" he asked.

I do not like Grey.

"Is everything okay? Your mood has changed so much since we left the dorms," he states, concerned.

I shake my head no and smile at him.

Pull it together Kerri and stop thinking about Michael's words last night.

"I'm fine!" I smile," my dad left my mom, my sister, and I after the birth of my sister. I just have a complicated family."

I smile and move my curls from around my face," what about you?"

"Ah well, my mom is a doctor at the hospital in the town over and my dad is a professor at the college in the town over," he replies and takes a drink of his champagne.

I nod and smile. It sounds like he has it pretty well made.

"Any siblings?"

He nods," I did, yes."

What happened? I decide not to ask, it may be a touchy subject.

"How old is your sister now?" he questions.

I am so caught up in thought about his sister that I don't notice he had asked me another question.

"What?"

He laughs it off," I asked how old your sister is."

She's probably about 12?

"Probably 12," I reply.

He nods and looks at me," cherish your sister. Don't guess on her age, know her age for sure."

My cheeks burn with embarrassment.

I wish I knew what happened to his sibling.

You guys have no clue how hard it has been for me to get in my writing. I have had no motivation for anything. No matter where I am in life I will always be able to write, I love it but it's just a struggle to find time and motivation. I hope you enjoyed this awfully short chapter. I'm very sorry for the delay of it all. Love you guys!!! Next chapter will be better, I promise!! -C
