Chapter Song: Skylar Grey - I Know You

---------------------------------

Chapter 59:

(Justin's POV)

"Liar."

"I have already told you. I'm only trying to help you here. Insulting me is no way to thank me," I replied calmly. Trying to keep my cool around Zachary is insufferable.

Zachary is my youngest step-brother. His physical age is around 16 but he acts 11.

I just recently found his girlfriend texting another guy. His 20 year old girlfriend to be exact. But what does he do? Nothing. He just avoids the topic and forgets what I say.

He groans," just keep your nose out of my business. Thank you very much."

"As if you couldn't be any more childish!"

I sigh and walk back around the corner to where my room is.

Living with my mother and stepfather until I find a suitable living arrangement other than the dorms is quite horrible, especially since my youngest step-brother isn't old enough to move out.

It's all I've got until I find an apartment close enough to campus that isn't drug dealer heaven.

I shut my bedroom door behind me and go to pick up my phone.

I just got back from my rush over to Kerri's dorm. I didn't plan to tell Zachary the way I did but it just slipped out when I bumped into him. He will find out sooner or later that he screwed up.

A knock on my door makes me jump.

"Food!" Zach bangs on the door.

An eleven year old trapped in a 16 year olds body. Perfect.

As always, we had this boring dinner with political talk and mom obsessing about what Johnny had told her today over the phone.

Johnny is older than I. He's around the age of 25. He works in England at the moment, which is my stepfather's homeland.

I cleared my throat and forked another piece of meat into my mouth.

My mother was blabbering about Johnny 's newest prey. He was a looker, a gentleman at heart, but acted like a total ass towards the best of women, which might I say, pissed me off to no end.

Surprisingly mother looks over at me with a smile," when shall we meet this girl you seem to fancy so much?"

I am taken aback at the sudden change in topic and the immense interest from my mother in my life.

"I'm sorry. What?"

I couldn't manage words. My mother never asks about my personal life, just about classes.

"Justin, you went out with a girl and last night you fell asleep on the couch murmuring the name Kerri. Does she go to the university with you?" My mother's bright smile wasn't close to fake, but somehow I managed to believe she had been showing fake interest seeing as I'm the least favorite, yet, her only real child.

She continues to look at me, searching for a response.

I place my fork onto my plate and look up at my mother. "Yes, she does. We are going out again tomorrow evening." My reply is short and sweet. I don't try to act cold towards my mother but I know nothing more when it comes to her. She leaves me no choice but to be cold.

She lights up with joy and happiness," Justin! She must come to dinner with us tomorrow evening! I would absolutely love it if she came to eat with us. I'd love to meet her! You said she was pretty."

My cheeks flush with embarrassment as my mother wiggles in her chair anxiously.

"Mother," I say with caution.

She gasps," Justin! You have to invite her!"

I face palm and look at her with slight dread in my eyes.

She pleas with a facial expression. She's only interested because she knows that the sooner I move on with life the sooner I'll be gone, And the closer she gets to concentrating on her other children. The majority of her interest comes from the fact that she enjoys having guests.

"Whatever," I sigh and get up from the table," thanks mother for the food. It was great."

She nods and I head out of the dining room and up to my room.

What if they don't like her? What if they embarrass her? We are two different people.

What have I gotten myself into? How could I be so stupid?

I shut the door to my room and pull out my phone in anger. My mom causes so many problems.

(Kerri's POV)

We pull up right outside a music blaring night club.

"Chica, I'm just 19.." I trail off confused and in hopes that he go to a regular college party.

She chuckles at my statement," darling, that's what fake ID's are for. Get real. Come on, let's go have fun."

She hands me a license that could actually be real. It has my birth date with an exaggerated birth year, my actual picture, my actual signature.

We step out of the car and get in line.

"There is a possibility that you won't need it though."

My eyebrows furrow in confusion as I look over at her," if the bouncer finds you hot enough all they need for confirmation is to look You up and down a time or two."

I laugh at her remark and walk beside her as we walk towards the door.

The valet takes her car around and we step inside without any conflict. Diana was right, all they did was wink and let me right through.

Thank you god little black dress.

She takes me by the hand and pulls me towards the bar.

What have I gotten myself into?

Hey there you wonderful people. Give this chapter a vote or comment if you enjoyed!! I wanted to give you an insider to the real Justin Manning. He's not being completely honest with Kerri, or hasn't completely mentioned everything. So what do you think happened in Justin's childhood? With his dad? His sister? Why doesn't he like talking about his past? I hope you enjoyed this different POV. I loved writing in a more professional tone, it's more like how I think in real life. Haha. Don't forget to comment or vote. -C
