It's Never a Good Bye (Sequel to Say You're Just a Friend)

[A couple days have passed since you woke up]

Doctor: How are you feeling Mrs. Mahone?

You: Hmm, ok I guess. I just really want to go home already.

Doctor: I understand. We just had to keep you under observation for a couple days just in case.

You: So when can I go home?

Doctor: Actually, you get to go home tomorrow.

You: Really?

Doctor: Yeah, everything seems fine and the baby is fine so I don't see why not.

You: I can't wait to tell Austin.

Doctor: Where is he anyways?

You: I told him to go home, I felt bad that he was sleeping here almost every night when I was you know.

Doctor: Ok well I have to go check on other patients, I'll see you before you leave tomorrow.

You: Bye.

Doctor: Bye.

[The doctor leaves the room and you turn on the tv]

Alex: Knock Knock, can we come in?

You: Hey, what are you guys doing here?

Robert: We came to eat your food.

[Zach hits Robert]

Robert: Ow, that hurts!

Zach: Don't be such a baby. We came to visit you.

You: Awh, you didn't have to do that.

Alex: We wanted to.

Zach: Do you want us to get you anything?

You: Yeah can you go get me some soda 2 chainz?

Zach: Dang I haven't heard that in a long time. You got it, I'll go get it.

[Zach leaves the room]

You: So Robert, remember that one time where you almost pissed your pants talking to me?

Robert: What's that Zach? You're lost? Coming!

[Robert leaves the room]

Alex: Wow.

You: I still got it.

Alex: Yeah I see that.

You: Actually I'm kind of glad they're gone. It gives me a chance to talk to you.

Alex: About what?

[You pat the bed signaling Alex to sit. Alex takes a seat on the bed]

You: Thank you for helping Austin when I was gone and thank you for talking to me when I was basically in a coma.

Alex: Wait you heard that?

You: I heard everything.

Alex: Whoa that's crazy.

You: I'm glad I have someone like you in my life and Austin has someone like you in his life.

Alex: I'm glad you're back.

You: I am too.

[Zach and Robert walk back into the room]

Robert: Had fun without us?

You: Actually yes.

Zach: Your soda.

You: Thanks. Hey Robert, come here.

[Robert walks over to you. You make him lean down close to you]

You: I thought you were cute too back then (you whisper).

Robert: Wait? How do you know that...

You: I heard everything, and yes I mean everything Zach.

Zach: What did I do?

Austin: Whoa the whole gang is here.

You: Hey babe. Well since everyone is here I guess I finally tell you the news.

Austin: What news?

You: I get to go home tomorrow!

[Austin, Zach, Robert, and Alex start jumping around and hugging each other while screaming]

You: GUYS! This is a hospital, calm down!

[They all look at each other and run towards you and started hugging you]

You: Ok, ok. Your squishing the baby here.

Alex: Sorry.

Austin: Yeah sorry babe, but you get to go home tomorrow.

You: I miss our bed.

Austin: I miss having you in our bed.

Zach: Ok we're just going to go...yeah.

Alex: Yeah we'll let you guys have your moment.

Robert: Bye you guys.

You: Bye.

Austin: Talk to you guys later.

[Alex, Robert, and Zach leaves]

You: Can we talk?

Austin: About what?

You: When I was practically a vegtable, did you think I was going to die?

Austin: It's crossed my times a few times.

You: I did.

Austin: What do you mean you did?

You: I did die, but I was gone for only a minute or two.

Austin: What!? How are you so calm about this?

You: That one day, where the guys came to visit and I started flatlining and they rushed you out.

Austin: Yeah?

You: I didn't know what was happening. I felt like I was fading away and next thing I knew...I was gone.

Austin: Why didn't the doctor tell me this!?

You: Don't get mad, just listen. When I was gone, I saw a whole other world. It was beautiful.

Austin: Y/n why are you telling me this?

You: Then I noticed I may be in the place in a long time, but I didn't belong there. Not just yet anyway.

Austin: Y/n?

You: Then I realized how I Ieft without saying good bye and you didn't say good bye to me. What I'm saying is, it's never a good bye. It's a I'll see you soon.

Austin: Why are you talking like this?

You: I realized how short life is and in a snap of a finger it could be gone. I just want you to know that one day, if and when that day comes...don't think about how you didn't get to say good bye to me. Think of it as a see you later.

Austin: That won't happen though.

You: You never know what the future has in store for us. And when the unexpected comes, I expect you to remember what I told you about this.

Austin: Expect the unexpected.

You: Exactly.
