A few days later it was the Fourth of July. Emma was used to celebrating the first but since she lived in America now she celebrated both. It was Saturday, the day of the game and everyone was there this time. Emma, Shay, Ashley, Lucy, Hailee and Audrey sat near home plate. They were beating the opposing team again.
"So are we all going to the Founder's thing tonight?" Shay asked. "I'm down." Ashley said. "Me too! Are the guys coming?" Lucy asked. "I think so, I know Benny, Smalls, Aaron and Marcus are coming. I don't know about the rest. But they probably all are." Emma said. Yet again Audrey was quiet as hell. "Audrey why the hell are you so quiet?" Ashley asked. "What?" She said. "Why aren't you talking...at all? You look like somethings wrong. What is it?" She said again. "Nothing is wrong." She said rolling her eyes. "Clearly something is. If something is going on with you, you know you can talk to us about-" "Really I'm fine." Audrey said interrupting Shay. "You're lying." Lucy said. "No I'm not. I'm just tired that's all. I just don't feel like talking every minute. I'm gonna go get my sweater before the game ends. I'll be back." Audrey said getting up instantly walking away. "I don't know what's going on with her." Lucy said. "She'll come around. She'll be over what ever made her in this mood soon." Hailee said. After the winning game the boys went home to get changed out of out of their baseball uniforms.
"Hi Benny." His dad said. "Hi dad!" Benny said walking into the house putting down his stuff. "Did you guys win tonight?"
"You bet we did."
"Nice job son." He said patting Benny on the back. "Uh I gotta go. They're all waiting we're going to the Fourth of July Founders thingy down town. See ya!"
"Yeah have fun and be careful." His dad said as Benny ran upstairs to be as quick as possible to not keep the girls waiting. Michael walked out into the hall way. "Where are you going?" He asked. "To the Founders day thing." Benny said rushing past him. "Oh with your girlfriend across the street?" He teased. "She has a name and she's not my girlfriend and we're going with other people too."
"I'm sure you'd rather just go with her alone."
"Michael shut up and get out please." Benny said getting very annoyed of Michael's presence. "We're just friends man stop being a pain in the ass."
"Well you see her every single day. You know, when you get a girl friend Benny you can't just keep it on the low you have to tell us."
"She's not my girlfriend you shit now I have to go, get out." Benny said throwing his glove at Michael. He laughed and finally left.Benny darted out of the house and back to where everyone was waiting. He thought Emma looked good as always. The girls walked infront and guys walked behind. Accept for Shay. Shay and Aaron were holding hands of course. So it was Lucy, Emma, Ashley, Hailee and Audrey walking. As they were walking Marcus whispered to Benny. "I know you wanna hit that." He said looking at Emma's butt pretending to hit it. "Shut up man!" Benny said giving him a little shove rolling his eyes. The rest of the guys laughed. "What's so funny?" Ashley said turning around. "Nothing don't worry about it." Ryan said. Ashley rolled her eyes and turned back around.
Soon enough they got to the the Founder's Day event that was down town. There wasn't much to do there but they liked walking around, looking at at the cool things and eating all the nice food.
They had one giant picnic in the dark and sat they eating fruits and cake. And there were fire works going off and they all were having a great time. Except for Audrey. Benny sat next to Emma and Joe. Lucy sat next to Emma. "So do they stuff have like this in Canada?" He asked trying to make conversation with her. "Yeah we do. But not exactly like this. In Toronto we have the CNE but it's a carnival." Benny couldn't take his eyes off her. He thought she was so beautiful sitting there in her ripped jeans and her flannel starring at the fire works. He honestly wasn't even listening to what she was saying. All of a sudden Emma got hit by a grape. "What the hell?!" She looked over at Marcus laughing. "Benny did you throw this at me?!" She said. "No I don't know where the hell it came from!"
"You shouldn't throw things at a lady Benny." Marcus said. "You threw it ass wipe!" He said. Before they knew it they were all throwing grapes and other fruits at each other. It went from a chill picnic to a fruit war zone. Audrey stood up.
"Kay, I gotta go now." She said. "What? Why? We've only been here and hour." Shay said. "It's just that I have stuff to do." Audrey said looking slightly irritated. "Like what?" Ashley said. "Don't worry about it." Audrey said. "Wait! Don't go!" Emma said. "Emma..." Audrey said slowly. "Yeah," "Mind your own business!" She grabbed her bag and walked away. Everyone just sat there in silence. She had literally just told Emma off infront of everyone. No one knew really what to say or do. Audrey had never snapped like that before. "What the hell?" Ashley said looking at everyone. "Jeez! That girl has some problems." Marcus said wide eyed. "No shit man." Benny said still shocked at how she had snapped at Emma. "Was it something I said?" Emma asked feeling really embarrassed. "Uh no, no you did nothing wrong. She's just in a bad mood and is being rude about it." Shay said comforting her. "But she only yelled at me."
"I don't know but you didn't do anything wrong." Ashley said. "I did not see that coming." Aaron said. "No one did." Lucy said looking at Hailee. "I'm gonna go talk to her after this. She's been in such a bad mood lately." Hailee said. The other boys were shocked too.At about 9:30 they started heading home. Hailee went up to Audrey's house and everyone else went home. "Emma," Benny said before she was about to walk inside. "I had a good time." He nodded. "Me too." She smiled. "Night Rodriguez." She said. Her ponytail flipping as she turned around. "Night Canadian." He said going inside with a smile that he couldn't take off his face.
