Kyles P.O.V
I woke up to my phone vibrating in my pocket, I looked down and my alarm was going off. I turned it off and sat up, I rubbed my eyes trying to wake myself up. Mark and Lexi were cuddling on the bed, they looked cute together. I got up and walked out the room trying not to make any sound. Once I had gotten ready and had a shower I pulled on my converse and jacket and walked out the door. It was getting chilly outside, the grass had begun to grow white with frost, and my breathe was like a puff of smoke around me. The fog made it hard to see and gave me goose bumps. I stuck my hands in my pockets trying to prevent them from freezing and falling off. I walked down to the bus stop and sat on the little bench waiting for the bus too come. I looked around and found a small figure in the distance, but when it came closer I recognized the messy brown hair covered with a bright green beanie. Seth came and sat beside me smiling, "Hey" he said kissing my cheek "How was your night". "Not great... Jordan found out... and he doesn't exactly approve..." I said looking down at the floor, I hated talking about being gay it just made things more awkward. He smiled at me "No need to worry he'll come around eventually" he whispered rubbing my arm, "Yeah... so everybody's been telling me" I mumbled. We took the bus too school and when we arrived teenagers swarmed the halls and school grounds.
"So" started Seth as we walked into class "did you finish the essay due Friday?", "Yeah It wasn't as bad as I thought it woul-" I was interrupted by a hard shoulder pushing past me. "Whoops... sorry" snickered Josh. Josh was the boy in my class that everybody laughed at, that seemed to get out of trouble easily, and off course was against gays. I glared at him rolling my eyes, he was a jerk and a douche bag. As the lesson began I looked around watching the kids around me loose focus. They all had it figured out, there jobs, there life's, their grades and what gender they liked. Why did life had to be so difficult? I continued to day dream through the whole lesson and jumped when the bell rang. I collected my books and put them into my bag. "Kyle? Seth? may I talk to you before you go?" asked the teacher, we walked over and she handed us supplies from the crafts closet. She gave Seth a big pile of paper and me a box of pins and staples, "Can you take these to pupil support please?" she asked looking frazzled, "Sure" we said together.
We walked down the hall chatting about football and the big match coming up in January, until we were stopped by Josh and his group of friends. "Hey faggot" he sniggered slapping the paper out of Seth's hands, "Hey what do you think your do-" "Shut it gay boy!" he interrupted him. The paper was all over the ground and was getting wet by someone's spilled cola, I glared at him. "What do you think your looking at fag" said Josh turning towards me, I just stared back at him. He pushed me against the locker making the lock grind into the skin on my back, "You need to learn that your nothing, your just a boy obsessed loner who thinks he's everything cause he's got a boyfriend" He laughed, all I could see was his angry disgusted face in mine and the smell of his cheap after shave wafted up my noes. We all turned our heads when we heard the sounds of heels walking through the corridor, he turned to face me his eyes showing nothing but hate. "Your lucky Kyle" he said walking down the hall.
I sighed and stepped away from the locker. Seth bent down and started to pick up the soggy paper as I picked up the box of pins and nails. I ran down the hall and didn't turn back even when I heard Seth shouting on me. I ran until I reached the boys bathroom and burst through the door my breath panting. I hated Josh! I hated him so much! He couldn't get away with what he was doing! I lent against the sink and turned the tap on splashing cold water on my face. I looked up and found a boy with black hair and dark eyes stare back at me, I stared at my reflection and saw a tear run down his cheek and soon more followed. I glanced at the box of nails and looked back at the reflection. I bit my lip and opened the box. I slowly pulled up my sleeve and picked up the nail, I dragged it across my wrist sending a shot of pain up my arm and a pool of blood poured from the sliced flesh and slowly dribbled into the sink making red blotches all over the white tiles. I sighed in relief, I had let the pain out. I stood there for a while just watching the blood trickle into the sink and run down the drain. Once my wrist had finally stopped bleeding a washed it with warm water and sent the remaining blood down the drain. I dabbed it with toilet role and groaned when it stung, but it was worth it, it made me feel better and I needed to feel better more than anything. I pulled my sleeve down over my damaged skin and flushed the blood covered toilet role down the toilet. I looked at myself one more time and wiped my tear ridden face with the back of my hand. I smiled and walked out the bathroom with my head down and my eyes glued to the floor, now was not the time to be spotted among the crowd of teenagers.
