I woke up with arms around my waist and soft breathe down my neck. I froze and then it all came back to me as of what happened last night. Wait if it was sunny where was mum and dad. Oh god. Luke must have fell asleep.

"Luke! Luke!" I whispered while trying to wriggle away from his grip.

He jumped away from me and sat against the wall.

"I'm sorry did I hurt you Em?" He said softly.

"No Luke don't worry you're fine. But it's morning Luke. My mum will come in soon. She always wakes me up to get ready for school. You have to leave through my window." I said whilst pulling the sheet from my body. To then it revealed all the bruises that had became visible over night. I stared at the ones on my hips and ankles. To then I looked at my wrists. Luke's arm moved around my shoulder as he pulled me towards his chest.

"Do they hurt?"

"Uh no. Just the memories." I said softly.

"Here I will help you up." He picked me up by my waist and carried me like a princess to my desk chair. I moved my hands from his shoulder to his hands to help me stand. The bruises around my ankles hurt as I walked but I had to hide the evidence from mum and dad.

"I'm going to go freshen up. You can go through the window. I will see you at school Luke. Thank you again."

I moved away from him to the shower. I walked past my tall full length mirror to see the extent of the bruises. Travelling my eyes from my ankles to my hips, then to my arms and then my face, MY FACE.

"Far out." I said under my breath. I forgot out the bruise on my eye. How do I hide that? Foundation?

A text for Luke read,

'Hey how are you getting to school?'

'Catch the bus as usual. Why?'

'Ok, just so I know you will get there safely. I will see ya at the bus stop.'

'Ok.' I finished. Luke being as protective of me as he has been only makes me like him even more. It makes it harder for me stay away from him.

"Emma, what happened to your face?" Mum was standing at my door.

"Oh, funny story, I walked into the door frame. Like I did last year." I laughed.

"We are going to have to put foam on the door frames soon before you lose your eyesight." She chuckled before she closed my door and left. That was a close one.

I then got a message from Levi. Levi Austin was my ex-boyfriend from Sydney. I had moved here when I was three but I spent a year there in year nine. Dad had a business proposition that he was trialling. It was a one year lock in contract, if he liked it then it would be a three year contract. It was up to him but he didn't like it. The business was something to do with marine repairs, like boats, jetskiis and yachts.

'Hey when are you coming back to Sydney?' Levi messaged.

'Don't know,why?' I replied.

"We need to catch up!'

'Sorry I'm kind of busy atm'

'Ok no worries. Talk to u l8r' he finished off. I don't know what he was up to but whenever he messages me he usually wants something.

By this time I had walked to the bus stop.

"Who you texting?" Luke asked me.

"Uh no one important." I bluntly pushed the situation away.

"Ok, well how are you anyway."

"I'm fine Luke. You don't need to baby sit me. I'm old enough." I didn't realise what I said until I said it.

"Uh sor-"

"No Luke I'm sorry. I've been treating you so badly and with everything that's happened you've been-" I was stopped with his lips that were pressed against mine. I paused for a second before I moved my lips against his is time.
