Hangovers were a bitch. I don't know why I drink when I know I'm going to feel like crap the next day. The first day of 2014 and I felt like crap. Oh well. Looks like an afternoon sleep in for me.
*ding dong* Are you serious. Why is someone at my house at 11:00am. It's still morning, both mum and dad are at work. Great sounds like I have to get the door..
*ding dong*
"I'm coming!" I yelled. Finding the key for the door was always a challenge seen as every family member of this house likes their own spot. Two turns of the key and it's open...
"Bye Luke!" I said casually with a sarcastic smile and closed the door back on him. Walking away wasn't going to be an option seen as Luke is a persistent person who never leaves until he gets what he wants.
"Em open the door so we can talk!" Luke yelled. "EMMA!"
"Ugh." I walked back to the door and opened it again. This time I couldn't close it quick enough, he was already in my house walking through my hallway.
"Are you serious?" I looked at him stupidly.
"What?" He pretended innocent.
"Get out!" I protested with my arms signalling for him to leave. I really didn't want to talk to him at all. It was just like high school all over again except he had a whole new look and shitty new attitude with it.
Now he wasn't even in sight anymore, I closed the door and went after him. Finding him raiding through my fridge wasn't a surprise.
"Luke get out of my fridge and out of my house before Jesse wakes up!" I tried convincing him.
"Jesse is here? Who even is that guy and why does he call you flower?" Luke had taken some bread and put it in the toaster. I just stared at him.
"He's my boyfriend and to be honest I have no idea it's weird but that's what he likes so I just let him haha." I finished with a laugh.
"I've missed that smile." Luke said turning serious. The smile on his face was gone, it was like he was his real self again. My smile faded and we shared a long look at each other.
*pop!* The toaster shot out the toast and Luke put it on a plate he had found while he was looking for the bread. He went in the fridge and got out the butter and the orange juice jug.
"Where's your vegemite and glass cups?" Luke asked in the middle of buttering the toast.
"Your making a mess!" I said angry again.
"Ok.." He said with a sigh. He found both things he was looking for. Once he finished. He put everything away and put all the dirty dishes in the dishwasher. His plate with the toast and the glass with the orange juice was still sitting there. He even wiped down the table.
"Well I guess I will see you around Em." He started walking around the kitchen table towards the door, on his way past he kissed my hairline and kept walking.
"You didn't even eat your toast!" I couldn't believe it he made all that mess. Then cleaned it up, to not even eat it.
"I didn't make it for me." He said genuinely. Who else would he make it for. It was just me and him...
"Oh..." I said quietly. Luke smiled and let himself out. Jesse had never made me breakfast before. He wasn't like that.
I thought I may as well eat the toast. I haven't had breakfast yet. I took a bite, it was pretty good toast. I didn't think Luke could cook. He's obviously picked up a few skills since the last time I saw him.
"Why are you smiling while eating toast?" Jesse surprised me.
I stayed silent while he stared at the smile on my face. He made a 'well?' face and I just smiled some more before I got up and put the dirty plates in the sink and went to my bedroom.
"Good morning to you too!" I said on my way not facing him. The smile still plastered to my face from not only Luke making me toast, but for the little kiss that meant so much.
