After all the boys went home, Luke and I decided to watch a movie. Michael took Amy home so I didn’t have to worry about her not getting home safely. “Michael and Amy seemed to really hit it off!” I told Luke while he was choosing a movie. I had already told him no scary movies.
“I think Mike has a thing for her, you could tell by the way he looked at her.” Luke said while I couldn’t help but smile at the idea of Amy actually finding someone. “We need to set them up!” I said to Luke. He looked at me with a smile on his face. It made me think that he already had a plan up his sleeve.

“LUKE HAVE YOU EVEN PACKED?” I yelled from the kitchen in Luke’s house. He was in his room and who knows what he was doing.
“NO!” He screamed out. I stood there and scrunched my fingers together. If I didn’t love that boy so much, I wouldn’t hesitate to punch him in the face. Lucky I’m not the aggressive type. I ended up walking into his room to find him sitting on his bed scrolling through his twitter page on his laptop. He didn’t know I was standing there so I started tapping my foot on the floorboards of his room… He still didn’t hear me.
“Babe!” I said.
“What?” Was his reply.
“You know what… I’m going to go home and get my bags and anything I’ve forgotten and by the time I get back, I would like to see you standing like the cutie you are near the front door with everything your taking with us. Okay?”
“Okay.” He said as he turned to face me and put on the annoying smile he has whenever I get angry with him.
I turned away to walk out of his room before he grabbed my wrist and pulled me on the bed. Before I knew it I was under him and lost in a kiss I wasn’t expecting.
“We have to be gone in an hour Lu!” I whispered after I broke off the kiss. My brain was still whirling from how quickly the last few seconds had gone.
“Look in the corner where my guitar usually is.” He told me. I moved my head side ways but my hair fell on my face so I couldn’t see, Luke was quicker then I was to move my hair for me an tuck it behind my ear. His navy blue duffel bag was sitting on the ground and full with what I presumed to be clothes. I looked at him with a sad pout. “Why do you always try to find ways to make me angry?” I spoke like I was a child. “Because you are so cute and sexy when you get all flustered over something so simple.” He laughed and pecked me on my hairline. He got up and walked over to his bag and slung the straps over his shoulders. Walking over to me he held out his hand, I took it and we walked out together.
By the time we had got to my house and grabbed the last few things we needed, the time was mid-day and we were at least an hour into our road trip, I was driving the first two hours and Luke was taking that last two. Michael and Amy were in the back giggling away to who knows what. Probably what colour they were going to dye their hair next. The radio started loosing its reception as we drove further away from the city. I decided to turn on one of my many CDs. Turns out I left them all at home. “Great!!” I said sarcastically.
“Who needs a radio when we all can sing?” Luke asked. I just laughed at him and then for the rest of the way we were all singing horribly and laughing to old songs I thought Luke and Michael wouldn’t know. It was actually probably one of the funniest car trips I’ve been on.
Luke woke me up when we arrived. My eyes opened up to see a beautiful landscape. There were pine trees everywhere; I couldn’t see where they stopped in the distance but only through the track that was already made by cars that have passed through. The ground was just dirt with small twigs, rocks and the occasional plant or shrub. I put my shoes back on and zipped up my jacket, it was quite cold when I got out of the car. The air was like breathing through a cigarette made of ice and exhaling smoke made of hot air coming from my lungs. I shivered uncontrollably not realising it was going to be this cold in the woods. Luke was already out and starting to unpack the back of the car. Him and Michael carried the tent together; it was one of those twelve man tents. My dad won it in a football raffle so this was the first time we were going to use it. They walked into a clearing that was probably 20 metres wide and set the tent down. Michael pulled out the tent and the metal poles, he grabbed two and put them together not even knowing if they were meant to go together. “Michael, how do you know they go together?” Luke yelled at Michael. Luke grabbed the instructions and frowned at Michael. Mike was just throwing things everywhere hoping that they would fit and that eventually the tent will pop up. I looked over at Amy and she was just laughing her head off. “I should probably go sort this out, are you okay caring the rest of the bags over?” She asked after grabbing up two of the bags out of the back of the car. I nodded and gestured for her to go, the laugh I was trying so hard to suppress was coming out. While dragging some of the bags onto the ground, I picked them up and took them over to where the three of them stood. Luke had the instructions in his hands and was reading out which number pole went with which, he put the instructions down and got them himself, putting them together. Amy was unfolding and laying out the tent to fasten down the base with pegs. And then there was Michael with one of the smaller poles, running around swinging the pole like he was playing swords and was pretending to chop down all the trees as though they were his enemy. He was making funny noises like hiiiieeee-yaaaa to make it more ‘real’ for him I suppose. I just laughed at how such a small thing can amuse Michaels mind. “This is why we just ignore him sometimes.” Someone startled me before I turned around and realised it was Ashton. I should have been able to guess by his iconic ‘Australian’ voice. “Oh hey, sorry I didn’t hear your car pull up.” I said to Ashton before I turned back to watch Michael have so much fun.
“I need to get the rest of the bags, whoops!” I laughed before Ashton and I walked back to the cars together. Ashton grabbed six bags at once. Two backpacks, two long handle strapped duffle bags and then an esky and food bag. I forget how strong he is, I mean he does play the drums. “Are you sure you can carry all those?” I asked concerned. “Yeah of course, just means one less trip for us.” He said as he started walking away. “I know who’s going to help me get the fire wood later.” I whispered under my breath hoping he wouldn’t hear me. There were two bags left in my car so I grabbed them and set them on the ground. I locked the car and tucked the keys into my pocket before picking the bags up again to walk to the back of Ashton’s car. He had a small silver Hyundai that was a hatch back, it was a nice small car unlike my beast. The first person I saw when I came around the corner was Jessica, she dropped her bags and gave me a hug. “I’ve been waiting ages for this trip, I’m so excited to just get away for a few days with my best friends!” She smiled. “I know right, took me ages to get Luke all organised but it was worth it.” I laughed remembering about the little things I got angry about before we came. Jess laughed and mouthed ‘boys’ as she rolled her eyes and bent down to grab the bags she had dropped. I turned to look past Jessica to see Calum and Bianca. “Hey guys!” I waved and smiled, on this trip I wasn’t going to make any scenes or judgements. I was just going to try my hardest to at least become somewhat friends with them and put the past behind us. They both looked up and smiled. I thought, at least it’s a start.
