"Let's get back to class before Mr Argus sends us to detention." Luke said as he held out his hand to help me up. I wasn't going to let my wall down. If anything it was going to get bigger.
"He won't." I got up without his help. I'm not crippled.
"We still have to go back and start on our project."
"I'm coming. And don't think that we are best friends now because we're not."
"I know." He had a smile on his face and I wanted to smile so badly but I would be falling for his games and he can't know that.
"So what are we going to tell people?" What's Luke on about, we aren't dating.
"Um I don't know something like you're a jackass and you're paying for it." I said sarcastically.
"Hey I'm not a jackass." He looked at me and pulled his eye brows together.
"We'll see about that."
"EMMA AND LUKE. Where have you been?" Mr Argus seemed angry as he yelled at us.
"Sorry Emma remembered she left her phone outside. I went with her to help her find it." Luke said. He was the worst lier.
"Doesn't matter anyway you two have detention for both recess and lunch today."
"But Mr-" Mr Argus shut me off before I could continue.
"No arguments."
"Just great!" I whispered to myself.
Luke sat down with no worry. He didn't care that he had detention he never does.
"Ooooooo" the whole class cooed.
I turned around to see everyone was laughing and looking at Luke and I as though we were a couple. This was going to be the worst two weeks of my life.
"Right, back to the topic of your projects. Emma and Luke the topic of the project is planets. You must present an oral speech and a poster about the gases that are harming our environment. You have more information on the sheet I've handed out. It is to be handed in by the end of week 2."
"Ok." I said.
"Alright you have this week to work in class, the rest is on your own." Mr Argus warned us.
"Hey are we gonna do this at your house or mine?" Luke asked me curious but you could see his excitement. I knew he was up to something but I just couldn't figure out what.
"We will see how much we get done in class first." I whisper yelled at him.
"I reckon we should go to mine." Why was he being so pushy.
"Dude. Drop it!" I kind of talked a little louder than I should have.
*bell rings*
"I will see you in class tomorrow." I said.
"No you won't. Remember I am hanging out with you!" He said excited.
"Oh yeah...great." I said sarcastically. I don't know what Amy is going to think of this. I'm going to go crazy being with Luke...
"Emma and Luke." Mr Argus yelled.
"Yeah?"
"Remember you two have detention." He reminded us.
"Oh yeah I was just on my way." I totally forgot. I was never getting away from Luke.
I was walking to my locker to put my books away and get my English books. But then Jamie Saffire walked straight into me. Did I mention she was the popular bitch. She had everything and everyone under her finger. One word would come out of her mouth and she would be praised. Luke obviously went out with her once. As popular boy and popular girl do. My papers was all over the ground. She just laughed and kept walking. Picking up paper off the floor was just embarrassing when people keep walking and don't help. Except for one. Luke. He got on his knees and helped me pick up all my papers and gave them back to me.
"What are you looking at?" He yelled at someone. Then he helped me up and put my papers in my locker.
"Thanks." I said shyly being a bit embarrassed. Luke just smiled back. There was something in my brain telling me that he might not turn out to be this tough bad guy. And that maybe he is a nice guy...or am I just falling for his games like I warned myself not to.
